Great website for selling stuff, buying stuff, etc etc... craigslist.org
Just wanted to spread the word about this great website : craigslist.org
My brothers have used this website for numerous things, (selling stuff, finding tenants, and lots more). Its a great website for this. It gets a TREMENDOUS amount of 'hits', my brothers get responses from this site a gazillion times more than other sites. They also use lootusa.com (thats that yellow paper thats sold on newstands, and other local papers.) but does not even COMPARE to craigslist...
ENJOY

I live on craigslist! so glad its finally catching on in NY.
The original site out here in SF is a godsend. I've found jobs, roommates, apartments and sold numerous things on there! In fact, someone from craigslist is coming by tonight to take away my old snowboarding boots.
just note you want: http://newyork.craigslist.org/ for the new york version...

Shamma, you should get replies GALORE from this site! its great. my brother wasnt getting any calls after having listed an aptmt for rent with RE Agents all over NYC and Queens, for MONTHS. and then he remembered about craigslist and he got like 15 calls a day for 3 days straight and found tenants right away. He couldnt believe how many responses the ad was getting, he sent all the calls to voicemail because it was getting so bad !
Good luck selling !!

This site has a cult-like following in the Bay area, and like LisaT, I have become very familiar with it on the Left Coast...but, I'm glad to see that NY has it's own version
