Greece

We are planning on going to Greece for our honeymoon and I just spoke to Travel Tom about an itinerary. I am wondering about how much money you have used as spending money while you are there- lunch? dinner? tours? Any information would be very helpful! Also, has anyone stayed at Vedema Resort in Santorini? Thanks!

Hello and congrats! Hopefully the euro will be weaker by the time you go on your honey moon but you might need a few thousand esp if the resorts are not all inclusive. it also depends how long you stay. i stayed at the vedema in santorini this past summer and it was amazing. the rooms are breathtaking. our only complaint is that it wasnt in town and the town where the vedema is located -megalohori- has nothing really going on. but there are shuttles that can take you to town (fira) and to and from the beach- they have their own private beach w towels and lounge chairs. and taxis to fira should cost about 12-15 euro. hope this helps!

I didnt go to greece but went to two locations in Europe. As far as spending money, well how long are you staying there? one week will be a huge difference what you spend compared to 2 weeks.

We are looking to go the end of June- beginning of July for 10 nights. Were the rooms in the Vedema overlooking the Aagean sea? Thanks!

Hi

We went to Crete and Santorini on our honeymoon - both were amazing. In crete we stayed in the western part of the island in Chania- hotel was called Casa Delfino. We loved it there. The hotel was beautiful and staff very helpful. In santorini, we stayed in Dana Villas where we had a junior suite that had our own patio w/lounge chairs overlooking the sea and volcano - gorgeous view right from our bed!. The villas are built into the caldera and each has just breathtaking views.

hmm.. as far as how much we spent ... In Crete, the food was a bit cheaper than Santorini - lunches around 10-20 euros (but can be cheaper if you just go to a market and pack a lunch - bread, cheese, some meat - they have a great market!), dinners from 40-60 euros (can obv go lower or higher depending on where you go and what you get). In santorini, everything was a bit but not much more expensive.

HTH - let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Greece

Just returned from 5 days in Santorini. Stayed at the Katikies hotel. Breakfast was included. We usually ate a late breakfast (around 11) and then ate an early dinner (around 6 or 7) so ended up with just two meals a day. We ate in Oia and Fera and spend around 40-60 euros for each meal which is about $55-$80. Not cheap, but very nice!
