Re: 'Greedy' registry items?

Ok I went abloslutely nuts with my registry!

Everything is within a 100 dollar max gift budget.
The one big thing on my registry is Dish sets, and the Kitchen aid mixer for the FH. He always wated one. For me I put on my registry the tassimo single serve.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer!!! It may be an expensive item, but it is the most useful kitchen tool and will last forever....Plus our friends and family know they will benefit from all the tasty treats I will make them years to come! I also agree with registering for good quality pots and pans so they last for a long long time!

Our comforter set and knife set were more pricey items. We didn't do china either. Other items were a toaster oven and a feather bed.

We were trying not to be greedy either.......

We inherited TWO sets of china, one set of silverware, and one set of crystal. - so we didn't need to register for that.

The most expensive things on our registry so far:
JA Henckels knife set ($199)
Analon Pots/Pans ($300)

Other than that - everything is pretty much under $100

I wouldn't worry about the cost of the items.. obviously you need some affordable things.. but pretty much everyone registers for the normal big ticket items---stemware, flatware, china, bedding... knives pots... the list goes on.. and that stuff is expensive but you need it! Everyone knows what they cost & expect it. DOn't feel bad... if not, you will get 10% off at most places after your wedding is over so then you can buy it yourselves if you want.. so definitely put it on your registry!

Vaccuum, the KitchenAid Mixer, our china, and this week I added the Cuisinart Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker!

My cousin is getting married right after me, and he and his fiance are on myregistry.com, where you can register for ANYTHING. So he registered for a Boat, a Plasma Screen TV and Q-Tips.

go for it.....you only do this once, so put on there whatever you want. If people don't want to buy it, they won't!

If you truly don't have anything that you want that is expensive, don't just put it on there for the sake of putting it on.......people will give you money instead.

Caphalon set
Henckels Twin signature knives set
Tumi Luggage

Have you thought of doing a honeymoon register? I just read about it a few weeks ago. People can chip in and get you a romantic dinner or an excursion..not sure where you are going.
