Hi girls...I've been traveling for work and haven't been able to log on.... I hope you are all doing well.
Deby: beautiful dress...great choice!
Marcela: Check out Starwood Hotels....they have a beautiful 5-star hotel in Santorini. It is absolutely beautiful.
Did the hook-up work?

Olga: The travel agent said b/c they have people going back and forth to set things up for the Olympics. I found it strange too
Irene: Thanks! I'll check it out

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls!FH and I are really close to booking a band - as much as I really like Powerstation - we are leaning toward Accoustical Fantasy. THe difference in price is just too big to ignore and considering we are paying for 100% of the wedding plus the honeymoon costs and trying to buy a coop before we get married and me not having a full time job - we cant really justifiy spending so much on the band. Plus, i've spoken to chris zavolas and he sounds like such a great guy and we have no snags at all with them (He explained to me how you go and see them at a wedding without getting kicked out *lol*). Although we have not heard him live yet - FH husband and I are really considering just booking off of what we heard on the demo. (Turns out one of the female singers (roula Vassos) - I went to HS with her) -
He asked me how I heard of them and I mentioned you ladies
- I'm sure he is extremely happy he has word of mouth business- which is defintiely great when it comes to figuring out of a vendor is good - FOr those of you that are using them - Olga, Debbie & Eleni (i think) - could you guys just say what made you decide on them? (I mean aside from the price - since that is a big driving factor right now) -
THank you girls!!

Re: Greek Brides??
First off I really liked Chris himself - he was an absolute doll to work with! Second, when we went to see him he sat down and talk to us and was nice even though he was working that night. He also seemed really down to earth and enjoyed what he was doing - like he wasn't any type of premodanna like some others that we had seen. I dunno how to explain it but it's obvious he likes what he's doding and he's happy

Re: Greek Brides??
I agree about Chris. Very down to earth. He spent a few hours with us talking about wedding stuff and life stuff and he was a nice guy with a good head on his shoulders. He also seemed dependable and he liked what he does. I also thought he sang great... and his equipment is brand new, which many other bands don't have. btw, I think the band sounds 10x better live than on that demo tape.

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls. Haven't booked them yet. AF... actually we are also doing the justification and weighing all our options. There is this young musician coming from Hios to spend the winter in the US and we are thinking we may book him, plus as many of his band members that will travel with him and then supplement some other pieces, like a female vocalist. I hear wonderful things about AF. Yes, Chris is very nice. I don't know him, know him, but I grew up having him sing at festivals and the like. It was something he enjoyed doing that now sprung into a 'career', dare I say. I also really like AF, but I have gotten my way on so much re: wedding that this is really the biggest thing the FH has pushed back on. So, I think I'll give him this one, but again we are still up in the air.

Girls that booked Acoustical Fantasy - how much did you have to give as a deposit? Also are you have a dj also? Olga - i think i remember you saying that you arent - but is anyone else? I think we are going to use Bravo sounds - they were at FBIL wedding - since we arent having video - having them again wont matter-

Re: Greek Brides??
I know we tried this before, but let's try to get together. When is everyone free? The only day I can't make it is Saturdays. We could grab some coffee at good ol' oassssis, or get some drinks.

Re: Greek Brides??
What I was trying to say is that I can make it any day except Saturday.Sorry, my writing has gone to sh*t! That's what law school does to you... I can write a 25 page legal paper in a night, but I can't write or speak regular English!
