Re: Greek Brides??
I just have to say that Basile was hysterical!! So much of what he said was true... but it is definitely geared towards Greek-Americans. My dad who is from Greece definitely didn't get all the humor.Plus, his opening act was a guy and a girl doing spoofs of different songs with a Greek Theme. There was I won't survive and you're not Greek babe.
Very funny!!

Re: Greek Brides??
Have you heard of anyone making their STEFANA? I went to a wedding and later heard that the MOB made them. They looked great and no one had a clue. Any ideas on where to get the hoops?Just wondering.

Re: Greek Brides??
I saw some hoops at this fabric shop called fabric land, but its in Jersey. Maybe a Michaels craft store might also have some, or look for a very good fabric shop that interior designers might go too. I'm making my veil and the cathedral length tulle, seed beads and I still have to get a comb, but even with the comb it will be under $20.

Re: Greek Brides??
anyone else changing their mind about things they registered for? fh and i registered for our formal china a few months ago and my MIL bought us all 12 settings with a few accessories. well, last week i changed my mind about my plates. i am not that crazy about them anymore so i took them back and exchanged them for another pattern. i just hope i don't change my mind again. there are soo many decisions to make that it is driving me crazy!here is a pic of the new pattern. it's from Vera Wang collection. pattern is called Grosgrain.

Re: Greek Brides??
Lenitsa, I think it's great you are making your veil. Tuile is such an inexpensive fabric, $1.99 per yard and it's usually 72 inches wide. I can't believe how much they charge just to gather it and attach a comb. Good for you.I'll check for the hoops, but unless they are really nice I won't bother. It was just a thought.
Thank you.

Re: Greek Brides??
Georgia,Cute pic of both of you. You make an excellent couple.
Good Luck with the Wisdom Teeth. It is a nerve racking experience. I went through all four at least 8 years ago and actually it was all fine. I didn't even have laughing gas and two were impacted. But truly it wasn't bad for me, but everyone has a different experience. Just think positive thoughts!

I took all four out at once when I was in college...ouch!

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls!!Wedding stuff have been put on a halt for us for now because of school for me - but i really want to get all the vendors out of the way now - just to ease my mind.
FH and I decided on Acoustical Fantasy - we havent signed contract yet but will really soon -
Next is Photo!! Fun!
I'm actually also going dress shopping on Saturday so I am pretty excited about that!!!
Angela- let us know how the florist search goes!
Irene - Did you ever go look at Eleni's for your little godchild? how did it go?
What about our GTG? We keep on 'planning' but never pans out -

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi Georgia,I never went to Eleni's because I have been traveling for work a lot lately and i did not get the chance to go to Astoria. I had half a free day a few weeks ago (can you believe, I really have no life) and ended up going to Anastasia's on Northern Blvd. I live in whitestone and it was more convenient for me. I bought everything from there except the favors which I ordered from www.favorsbylisa.com.
Angela, I used Arcadia Florists. The owner is named Sammy and they are based in Mamaroneck.
I would love to get together with all of you too. Let me know when and where. My schedule is a bit difficult but hopefully I could work something out.

Re: Greek Brides??
Oh Irene - the favors that I want for my wedding are from www.favorsbylisa.com - Of course I am being a pushy bride and telling our koumbaro what favors we want to have
- We actually are expecting to pay for them unless he really insists - The part of Greece I am from the bride pays for the favors and the part of Greece that FH is from the koumbaro pays - so it works either way - if it is too much $$ for him and he still wants to pay some we will pay the differnece of what he expected to pay.OK - well back to my whole point of posting -
- How is the website service? Did everythign go smoothly? Did you get the favors yet??THis is that favor that I want to have - We are probably getting them boxed and having Nourfaro wrap them -

Re: Greek Brides??
Beautiful favors...I love them. The site is awesome. I found it when I was planning my sister's shower a couple of years ago. The favors I bought for the christining are the limoge-like boxes. (I'm a spazz at posting photos). I got them within two weeks. Lisa is very nice. Her wrapping is beautiful.Good thing you are picking out your favors. My koumbaro picked ours out (he payed) and I wasn't to crazy about them. I should have just bought them on my own.

Re: Greek Brides??
Irene - one more question - did you guys have one per person or one per couple - (you dont have to answer that if you dont want)FH and I havent figured it out yet -
We were thinking of either one per person or couple two pears ('the perfect pair' theme) and doing that as one per couple , or one pear per couple -
decisions decisions decisions *lol*
Oh - these are probably the limoge boxes that you ordered -
