Re: Greek Brides??
Georgia-Have fun dress shopping!! Enjoy it!! It was the best part of wedding planning!! I loved going to stores and trying on bridal gowns! Now I can't wait until my dress comes in!!!!Do any of you girls know if there is a Greek font in Microsoft Word? I am planning on doing my programs in Greek as well as English and I am looking for the greek font. For any of you that are interested I have a copy of a really good program that is written on one side in Greek and the other side in english. Just let me know and I will FM it to you.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!! I have a four day weekend (off on Monday and have a half day on Tuesday). FH and I will be house hunting all weekend long. Wish us luck!!

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls!Dress shopping was short but fun!! I only went to Fontana's for the trunk show they were having for Justina McCaffrey. The designer was there and he showed me their 2004 line which hasnt been made public yet (It will tonight).
I serioulsy found the dress - they didnt have the dress I wanted but the had one that had a similar bodice and a different skirt. Gorgeous - i cant find a pic of it on their website though bec it was made exclusively for Fontana. I absolutely love it!! Unfortunately major sticker shock!! I am going to continue searching for dresses though - maybe get a better price. A dress that is over $6K (without veil and tiara) is just way too much considering I am not even going to be wearing it for 12 hours.
Angela: How was house searching?? I was in Westchester on Saturday - I love the houses there. My brother's g/f is also looking to buy a house in that area bec she lives in Pleasantville.

Re: Greek Brides??
Georgia: That happened to me too (Sticker Shock). At first I fell in love with a $5000 dress. I really didn't want to spend that much. So what I did is bought a dress by the same designer (that I love even more) that cost less. Could you do that? The dress that I originally fell in love with had a lot of detail and beading. The dress that I ended up getting has all of the that but less beading. Also what about buying a sample dress (if it's in good condition of course)?Don't worry, even if you don't go with this designer, you WILL find the one. Good Luck
Angela: How did it go?

Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Marcela!!Unfortunately the reason why my dress is so expensive is because it is silk tafetta and there is a lot of it!! There isnt much beading on it - just the bodice- the price is so high because of all the material and probably the amount of time it takes to make all the lifts.
THis is the bodice of the dress that I like -
and this is one of the skirts that i love (you cant see the train in this pic though) - the one that was connected to that bodice isnt on their website -

Re: Greek Brides??
Beautiful dress...I love it.It took us a year to find our house. All I could say is that I could not believe how people live? The houses we saw were disgusting...dirty, old and falling apart and they wanted so much $$$$ for it.
Something will come up.....don't worry.

Hi everyone!! Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I've been so busy lately with work and school. I have midterms and projects in the next couple of weeks.
Georgia, those dresses are both beautiful!!!!
Angela - Good luck with the house search. DH and I went through that last year, it was so frustrating that we gave up. Something will come up, you just have to be patient!!

Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks for all the comments on the dress girls -FH and I went wedding ring shopping yesterday - it was so much fun! and - we found them - FH is from fortunoff so we registered so that we can get 10% off the band. Registering was nice - FH hogged the scanning gun the whole time *LOL*
- definitely starting to feel so real! We just have Crate and Barrel to go register at. We went to the Americana Mall to go see the bands at Tiffany's so we stopped by Crate & Barrel. FH is so cute - picking out stuff- never pictured him being so into furnishing the house and kitchen stuff - it was so nice seeing him so excited! How is everyone else doing?
