Greek music

Hi,
I saw an earlier post where people talked about having a few Greek songs at their wedding. My FH is Greek and I thought this might be nice for his family. Does anyone have any names of songs? Also, are there any other small Greek customs we could incorporate, we aren't having an orthodox ceremony, but I was thinking of some things for the reception.
TIA

I don't really know of any customs except to make sure you do the almonds. Should always be an odd #. We used 5 & put on my favor.

The music.....I don't know the names of the songs. sorry. We hired a greek dj.

One of the most important parts of the Greek Orthodox ceremony is the exchange of the crowns (stefana)...if there's some way to incorporate that into your ceremony it will be appreciated by every Greek guest in attendance

As for the reception, the first Greek dance is a Kalamatiano dance ... there are a lot of songs that can be used for that, but one of the most popular is 'Simera Nifi' or something close to that title

Have you spoken to your band or DJ about Greek songs?

Thank you so much. I will definetly do the almonds. I also will look into stefania, not sure if this can be incorporated into a Catholic ceremony, but we'll see. As for music, I am assuming I will need to provide some Greek songs for my DJ, but maybe he already has ideas. I'll see if there are some songs I can buy from Itunes.
Thanks!
