Groom's Cake

For anyone having a groom's cake, are you serving it at the rehearsal dinner or the wedding? How much do they cost?

Re: Groom's Cake

I'm getting FH's cake for the RD - It's going to serve 25 ppl or so, but it's a theme cake decorated like a basketball court. My cake lady is charging me $55 for it.

Re: Groom's Cake

I think my Mom is making my FH's groom's cake as a surprise to him for the RD. He is a huge Oakland Raiders fan so she is going to make it in the shape of a football.

Re: Groom's Cake

It's a southern tradition and not everyone does them. Some people do them at the wedding and some at the RD. I think it is also a celebrity 'thing' too because any of those Instyle wedding mags have pics of them for the groom. I like it because it usually is all chocolate or whatever the groom loves.

You are funny Diamondgrl....

Re: Groom's Cake

I am surprising him at the RD with one. It will be a Yankee- Red Sox scoreboard (we are from NY, he is from MA) I am making it a tie game, last game of the world series with the Year 2003. Or something like that.

Re: Groom's Cake

My wedding cake is too much of a production, and noone would pay attention to his, so I will present him w/one at the RD.

Re: Groom's Cake

LOL wed babe! I just pictures that and it made me laugh! We too will be doing a grooms cake at the RD. FH is a HUGE islanders and Yankees fan so I am torn which way to go on that one. Thankfully, I have lots o' time to think about it!
