I am from TN. and the custom in my family has been to have the groom's cake at the RD. I figure that I will not break this tradition.

I'm also having one at the RD, and I am so excited about surprising my FH with it.

I will agree that it's not the most practical of wedding expenses, but it's a nice gesture!
