Groom's cake

Anyone doing a groom's cake?

We are having a relatively small wedding so I thought it would be overkill at the reception but nice at the rehearsal dinner.

He is a part-time musician... actually he's recorded 3 cd's so I thought a cake in the shape of a guitar? Anyone know of any creative bakeries in the Huntington area?

Good Idea! I am doing a Groom's cake. I am undecided on whether I will do it at the RD or the reception.

I am going to get it at Dortoni's (I think)
I haven't really looked into this yet.

mMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmDortoni!!! One of my favorite places on earth!!

I am getting a SMALL key lime pie (our wedding is only 75 people). Just for him, ya know?
I know someone who does beautiful cake creations and I am sure could make a guitar or a basoon or a trumpet or whatever you want!!

I had a chocolate pudding pie for Dh, b/c it is his favourite.....

There is another place...www.perfectcake.com..one of my BM was in another wedding recently and they had a cake made for the rehearsal dinner in the shape of a motorcycle for the groom

I'm doing a cheesecake from www.elegantcheesecakes.com, thanks to Felicia's glowing recommendation.

I'm surprising FH with it at the RD - it will be in the shape of a pool table or a computer (waiting on confirmation of what she can do for me).

I want to do a grooms cake at the reception if I do one I would want it in the shape of a pool table with a green top and everything or maybe just a eight ball because he love playing pool.

Heres how I got quotes, locations, ideas...Go to Vendors on the top and then on the far right Vendor info request, if you click on Bakeries you will be able to send an e-mail to every bakery listed...I then got e-mail from a LOT of them with ideas and prices...
