I'm a wedding newbie! Can someone explain what is a groom's cake? I am not sure what the purpose is..etc. Thanks a bunch!

its a cake that is usually themed to the groom....maybe a sport that he likes or his favorite car..the bakery will make it into that, like a baseball stadium or the car or a gold club etc. some brides have it at their wedding and some do it at their rehearsal dinner
if you do a search on here for grooms cake you can probably find some example pictures

My FH is an ameteur photographer so I am having the baker make a cake that looks like a camera. I took pictures of my fiance's camera and gave it to them. I can't wait until he sees it. He's going to love it. I am having it displayed at the reception.
