Groom's Gift Poll

I'm trying to decide on a Groom's gift for FH, right now I'm going back an forth between two ideas.

First a Railroad Pocket Watch - FH loves trains, he has taken weekend trips to busy RR crossings just to watch trains go by - so I was thinking an antique RR pocket watch would be something he would really enjoy and I could inscribe something like 'I will love you until the end of time' on it

My second idea is to plant a decorative tree in our yard for him and at the base place a rock or plaque that says 'With each passing day my love for you grows' I really like this idea, but I'm not sure how I would pull it off - We are getting married in Oct (so I'm not even sure if a tree can be planted then) and how do I plant a tree in our yard without him being aware of it???

if he really loves trains & railroads, i think the pocket watch idea is great. my DH gave his brother one as a best man gift and had it engraved.

Do both! I love the pocket watch idea and I love the tree idea as well. My mom has planted a tree for each of her children and you can dig it up and bring it with you to another home.
