Grossest BM dress ever - Need to rant and vent **Update - Now with pic**

Let me preface this with some background, my cousin has been dating this guy for around 8 years. They break up and get back together at least 3 times a year to the point that it's a running joke. She didn't want to marry him, and then I got engaged. Two weeks later they were getting married, six months before we set our date.

So I am a BM for my cousin's wedding, and she's being one in mine. And I just got her dress in the mail today. I want to vomit it is so ugly. It's this T length dress that is too long for me (it actually comes to my ankles) in the most ugly color of pink with this really ugly green (that actually looks more like pea soup) ribbon from Alfred Angelo. And when I told the girl at the store that I needed a smaller size she kept insisting that 'it's Italian the sizes are small' and what a shocker, the dress is way too big. I am going to spend a fortune in alterations. And for what I spent on the dress, it really isn't that great of quality.

My mom, her mom, and my grandma all said that it was so important that I take my BM's opinion into count when selecting a dress, which I did, and we're getting something we all like. Meanwhile they never said anything to her and let her pick whatever she wanted. And I HATEHATEHATEHATE the dress with a passion.

She is having the wedding on a Friday in Las Vegas. It's the day after my brother's prom, so I have to fly in on a Thursday and miss his prom, plus two days of work. How selfish is it to have a destination wedding on a Friday!? And it's so obvious she doesn't even care about or want to get married. She picked out the dresses and then stopped caring (her mom has literally planned everything).

This wedding has been nothing but a pain in the @$$ and a drain on my wallet.

Ugh!!!

Here is the picture, obviously I am not happy. I shimied a bit to see what it would be like if I tried to dance and the whole top came down and exposed my breasts. I showed it to my mom and she said it may be to big to do anything with. This has been such a nightmare and the wedding is still a month away!

Not nice at all. You look miserable. Sorry you have to go through that horror. I feel that the BM's should be comfortable all night and should have a say in what dress they like.

You dont look happy but, its not that bad.....I have seen worse, TRUST ME!!!!! She should have asked all of you what you liked if this is what you were told to do as well but, not everyone is nice about it....sorry

Awww...it's really not thaaaaaaaaaaat bad of a dress...

Maybe it looks bad cause it's so bright

My thoughts on bm dresses...they might not look asthetically pleasing standalone, but once they're all together in uniform, it might not look so bad.

Plus it brings out your nice tan!

LOL! Your face is priceless! That dress is pretty bad. Well, you'll rock it either way. Your hair will be pretty, get kick a$$ shoes and do your makeup nice and you'll be gorgeous even though that dress is henious!

oh stop! you know that dress is so HOTTT! you know you want to wear it ALL THE TIME! i feel sooo bad for you - but atleast you only have to wear it ONE time, and at the rate they are going - who knows if they will even get married - SMILE atleast you know that you will ROCK the dress

Hopefully all the girls are skinny because that dress would highlight any tummy problems!

Im sorry you feel that way but i dont think it is bad at all! I read your title and was picturing ruffles and bows all over!

As far as the length, you can absolutely (easily) have that taken up to a better length for you! When you ordered your dress, did they tell you what the cap on alterations is? ALWAYS askf or that! this way you know what you are getting into. Also, I know where I work, we can recommend a size but if the customer thinks they should go smaller they can but they have to sign for the fact that they went against recommendaton. Did they let you do that? Think of it this way, at least it can be altered to fit ya know? better to be a bit big than small... hang in there champ! Make you cousin wear somethng awful on your day

honestly it doesnt look THAT bad. u are a very pretty girl and i bet with a few alterations on the dress, some makeup, ur hair done and some cute shoes u are going to look AMAZING!

OMG, I LOVE that pic!

But honestly, I don't think the dress is too bad at all...it's her wedding so it's obvioulsy her taste..if you want to be there for her just try to expect that you might not like a lot of things that happen, but try to go with the flow for her sake...if you don't have any great expectations, then you won't be disappointed, expect the worst

I wore a dress in the same color and was not that happy about it but you do what the bride wants and get revenge when you have your wedding!

Wait a minute, I just looked at the dress again, are those straps part of the dress or is that your bra sticking out from underneath?????
