OK tell me if I am being unrealistic here...My FH and I were just talking about our rings. I am pretty excited for this. Anyway, he says I don't think I am going to really wear it that much! What the hell is that? He says that a lot of the men at his job don't wear rings and that its not that he wants to appear single but rather its the fact that its uncomfortable and irritating. Is anyone having this issue? I am almost embaressed to admit that this is what is going on here lol. GRRR why???

ALOT of men don't wear their rings. My FH is a sanitation worker, so I def. dont want him wearing his ring at work. My dad never wears his ring. Its not b/c they don't want people to think they arent married. Most men just don't like any form of jewelry. At first, I didn't like the idea of FH not wearing his ring...now I really dont care anyone. He doesn't need a ring to show he's married. He knows it..I know it...everyone who nows us knows it. So why do you need the symbol?

it totally depends on his profession. my FH is a corporate guy so he BEST be wearing his. although he picked out a rather blingy band (pic in album) i think he should have another band for when we're doing things where it might get damaged.
colleen: what about getting him a plain cheap ring (light weight) to wear to work and if he loses it no big deal...

That would annoy me, too. FH is PSYCHED about wearing his ring... But it definitely depends on the guy's profession. Is he using his hands a lot?

FH originally didn't want to wear his ring on his finger, but said he would wear it around his neck. When we went to get rings though, he wouldn't take his off! I had to pry it off of him just so I could put it away!

My dad never wore his ring so I told FH that it wouldn't bother me because I am not used to it anyway. You know your FH...you would know if he was just doing it to appear single or not. Also, once he has it on, he may never want to take it off lol
He has not said that he doesn't plan to wear it but if it bugs him to wear it I won't force him into it...

fh works in construction sooo he has said that it can be dangerous...which of course i dont want him slicing a finger off. BUT with that said he isn't against wearing it, he just doesnt want to ruin it. We're pretty much decided on a tungsten band for him..much more durable and scratch resistant so he won't have to worry about ruining it.
oh and tungsten rings are waaaayyy cheap...i couldnt believe how inexpensive they are!

When FH and I wear looking at some wedding band he actually said the same thing to me. At first I was a little mad. The only 'jewelry' he wears is a watch anyway. I fine with it now but I told him if we go to functions or anything like that then he has to wear it.

i never realized that so many men didn't wear their rings...i would def be pissed if FH didnt wear his, but he doesnt work with his hands so he has no reason not to wear it!

My Fh tells me the same and I said you are NUTS, you will wear this ring everyday.So what it is annoying I never wore any rings before my engagement ring and now I feel naked without it on! I hate when my Fh says this!

Ha ha I'm glad you agree with me. I am hoping he will change his mind when he finds his ring. I definitely don't think its wanting to appear single type of thing...he just doesnt wear any jewlery and thinks it will be uncomfy. He works in a hospital so I guess with the gloves it might be annoying. Otherwise, he should be wearing it!

I would be pissed if my FH didn't wear his ring. I'm not a jewerly person either but I wear my engagement ring every day. My grandfather was a firefighter and has wore his ring every day for the past 55 years even in the shower. So I don't really get the not wearing it bc of your job.

i never asked FH about wearing the ring, but my guess is he will. He has another ring that I bought him and he wears is everyday. So I am guessing he will wear the wedding band.

He already has a cheapring lol..the one he wanted was only like $70. i dont mind if he doesnt wear his ring to work...he's a garabage man
