GRRR...Just got back from my hall...VENT & WARNING

My catering manager TRIED to tell me that the 1/2 price kids and vendors DIDN'T COUNT TOWARDS MY FINAL HEAD COUNT!!! I told him that no one had ever made that clear and he is allowing my 1/2 price kids and vendors count in the final...but PLEASE be forewarned and to clarify this with your halls!!

I know that in the contract for my hall it says that the half price vendors and kids are only after you meet your minimum.

That would make me angry but our hall told us....
We guaranteed 250 and are paying for that many and if for any reason we didnt have that many that our vendors and kids would just be included so we didnt ahve to pay for them. But we would be paying more than double but it is already paid for so it doesnt mattter we just wouldnt have to pay extra.

I knew that the vendors were only half price after the minimum, but I thought kids were just standard 1/2 price because they usually eat a lot less (I say usually because there are the few kids who can pack it in)

We guaranteed 150, but if we for some reason don't meet our minimum, then the vendors & children would be included in that 150. We wouldn't have to pay extra for them.ö

my point being it was not put on my contract nor was it ever mentioned the countless times I spoke to them about who was included

I know I thought that was weird with there contract, because my friend booked her wedding there for October and I asked her that questions and she went to look on her contract and it was not there.

Our (1/2 price) vendors and kids are included in our headcount...as per our contract.

As long as you're paying for them, 1/2 price or not, they SHOULD be included! Good for you in standing your ground.

yeah...because of LIWeddings...i ask that question...

it says it indirectly in the contract...

you signed up for x amount of guest at y price. so in general, they are looking for X * Y money

thats what i thought anyway

Yea it was Ben....but because I had said no one ever clarified that, he let it go. Thankfully..otherwise I'd be 12 people UNDER!!
