just got off phoen with fh - it seems his aunt called the house (and fh answered but she talked to fh's dad about this!) and told his father that her two daughters - who are both married with kids and we have never met, heard from or anything - are wondering where their weddign invitations are since everyone else got theirs.....now, we do not know these people at all - but they claim that they got save the date cards from us - uh, no....fh and i dont even know their last names let alone their addresses and i remember who we sent std's to....they live out of state (wa) but i still feel we don't have to invite them....evenif the chance they will come is small, isn't this stupid?? and why couldn't fh's aunt just say it to him???
now we dont want to hurt anyone's feelings or cause any probs in family with their two sisters (out of five!) who we invited...but we know their sisters - they come visit and spend time with us, etc...so of course we invited them....now we are afriad that it will become a huge mess and really don't know what to do....
we still have invites left but i kinda don't want to invite them and fh doesn't either - but onthe same side, we could in order to spare any hard feelings....we just don't know.....
how frustrating - any ideas???
thanks in advance!

Re: grrrr....people 'required' to come to our wedding
i'd say invite them without the kids maybe.... it's not worth hurting feelings over this. JMO though
That's pretty much how we came up with our guest list...we're huge pushovers and invited anyone our parents wanted us to.....

Re: grrrr....people 'required' to come to our wedding
when we first got engaged my fathers cousin called up to see if her grandchildren were invited becuase new year is a family day and if they are not invited then her two kids and wives arent coming. so i said no kids the wedding is 8-2am and an adult wedding this was done to plant a seed. mean while they are still coming to the wedding minus the kids. i am inviting 300 people and not inviting 2 bratty kids. last party we went to these two kids kept slidding across the floor i dont need that at my wedding we have one child and thats a 5 yr old ring boy who is well disaplined. ignore people you will be surprise how many come out of th woodwork.

you said you invited 2 out of 5? cause if those are 2 more, your probably have to invite the 5th one... if fh's dad doesnt care, say that you are keeping it small to people that you see on a 'consistent basis'

I invited ONLY those people that I wanted to. Just tell the aunt that you are limited to the number of guests due to budget and space and are only inviting those family members that you feel close to. Period, the end.
