I'm in the same boat as you Sassy. My friend has a different schedule than me and can't post nearly as much as I do. She is the one who actually introduced me to this site.
And it took me a while to post as well. I was a lurker for a few weeks. It is intimidating, but eventually I was like, I have to speak up!

Re: GTG Question
I completely agree with sonicstef. I hate to say it, but the prizes must look awfully good. I'd want to join too! Can't wait to see you guys!! Deb

Re: GTG Question
I took a long time to start posting and even now am not that frequent a poster (as well, jennbaby, but then again no one is, that's why she is the queen! ). I think we should let them come - perhaps once they get to know us in person they will want to post!
I really like the people here and the sense of community among us and I just couldn't see us excluding people...but that's JMHO.
I agree with Curly about the prizes, too - that would show that they really want to GTG and not just win a prize!
Only my opinion.....

Re: GTG Question
Sassyz75: I think this is in referrence to non-posters at all, not a single post, just lurking. Or are we talking about infrequent posters?

Re: GTG Question
There's nothing wrong with being an infrequent poster, but people who have never posted before at all?? I don't know, maybe I'm just naturally suspicious, but that seems a little weird to me.

Re: GTG Question
I love to meet new people, my question is, if you have not posted, why would you want to come?? I would not care one way or another, b/c I feel like I have built something with the ladies I have been posting on here with, so I am looking forward to meeting them. If I have never posted and I just show up I would feel so out of place. I would probably know about you all but you would not know about me.
As long as they don't get my Arbor Mist and my Donuts I am cool

Re: GTG Question
I think anyone that wants to come should. This is a great planning tool and as said previously many are shy about posting ideas. I do think though that the prizes should be limited to posters only.

Re: GTG Question
Alina, I am referring to people who do not post at all.
We all have different schedules so some of us may not be able to get on here as often as others.
As I have said before,, I want to meet the people whom I have had some type of interaction with on this board, whether you respond to one of my posts or all of them.

Re: GTG Question
Shamma, I am a little shy, so at first I was also shy to post, b/c so many people know one another.
Its kinda like coming up to a group of friends who all know each other, and you don't know anyone, and saying hello to them... Same kind of shyness.

Re: GTG Question
Most of us don't really 'know' eachother. I think if there are people out there who are passionate enough about this board that they actually want to attend this GTG, they should come. The number of people making this request can't be too high (can it?) and obviously these ladies are really into it. I am sure they each have their own personal reasons why they have not yet begun posting. I myself was reader on this board long before I was a poster, reason being, I was not engaged yet, but I knew it was only a matter of time. Let the ladies come! Although, I agree they should not be entitled to the prizes, as that should not be their motivation to come! If they are vendors posing as brides, we will pick up on that the minute they open their mouths!

Re: GTG Question
ALina, we do not know, know for real, for real, you just build a bond, as you can see I have only met a few people in for real, for real, others I have spoken to on the phone. I would hope that we do not seem so intimidating that people lurk for months and not share with us.
I say this is your official invitation jump right in and join the fun. It must be fun if we are all still here

Re: GTG Question
I didn't even know what the entire GTG was about. Although I was not one of the people who sent an email to LIWeddings, I still thought about coming but didn't know if I should. It seems like you all know each other really well and I am new to the board...

Re: GTG Question
I also was very hesitant in the beginning and although I don't have alot of posts,(i am trying!!) I would find it a little unfair for non posting members to be able to win the prizes. One other thing is that if the non posting members feel uncormfortable about posting, why would they feel comfortable walking into a room of total, complete strangers? Most of us on here, (well,me) have not met any of you ladies in person, but I feel with all the help we give to each other, we do have some sort of a relationship. This is just my opinion.
