While many of us--28 percent to be exact--say that wrapping Christmas gifts puts us in the holiday spirit even more than shopping, there are more than a few Scrooges out there when it comes to pretty paper and beautiful bows. Fully 10 percent of Americans would rather take out the garbage than wrap their Christmas gifts, according to a new survey from Scotch Tape published by Wireless Flash.
What else do we prefer to do instead of wrapping gifts?
Clean the house: 19 percent Shoveling snow: 11 percent Well, that is one way to get the house tidy and the driveway cleared.
So if you do take out the garbage, clean the house, and shovel snow to procrastinate gift wrapping, you may end up like more than a third of all Americans. Fully 36 percent plan to do all their gift wrapping at the last minute. Where are the scissors?

OMG - i love gift wrapping!! I definitely prefer it over shovelling or cleaning! - so shocked at that! Someone would rather be out in teh cold weather getting all sweaty?? No thank you! I rather be in my toasty home - with some soft music playing and a warm drink at hand!

I don't mind it but don't enjoy it as much as I used to.
I know the packages look pretty but all I keep seeing is all this paper that will go to waste along with the money that we spent on it. Luckily we have a cat that would destroy, play with or eat any ribbons or bows so we don't do that.

Im so anal about my gift wrapping Jim tries to take as many as possible and do them before I do.
I like all the corners to be nice neat and tight. I hate the 'taped' look so I pressed out any air bubbles and make the tape nearly transparent . I hear now they have 'gift wrap' tape that comes out completely clear on wrap! YEAH!!! I can never have the same wrap on gifts given to the same person unless all of my gifts are coordinated as such. If only one gift is given no two gifts going to the same house hold can have the same wrap.
Yep. I make gift wrapping an entire affair!
Love it though.
Especially the challanging stuff. Round, oddly shapped and extra large.

Christine - you are scroogy! Its so true - i spend so much money on wrapping - FH hates x-mas wrapping with me because I have to have every thing just perfect - if it was up to him he would just put the present in a bag and give it. He actually did that- he gave his sister her b-day present without wrappign it yesterday. I told him to go wrap it and he just handed her the bag-

I would never not wrap a gift. I don't even really like to use gift bags because it's not the same as openning a gift.

I like wrapping gifts in general, all the fussing with making it really pretty is the fun part IMO.
But nowadays we mainly give gifts to kids so its impratical to put all the extras on it mainly for their sake. But I do like to wrap for my Mom, she'll OOh and AAh at a gift for 10 minutes before she opens it.

I dont mind wrapping gifts...I just hate the gifts that are of odd shapes....They make it difficult to wrap the gifts nicely....

I LOVE WRAPPING PRESENTS!!!!! During the holidays we call teh basement Santa's workshop cause I disappear down there for hours!!! And I'm not even a fancy wrapper, I think I just like feeling as though I've accomplished something!!

I love it too!! I don't always fuss over making them really pretty with all the extras, but I love it. I would MUCH rather be wrapping gifts than shoveling snow -- that's for sure!!

I love wrapping as well. I put the curling ribbons on too. Most people can't open the darn presents because it is hard to get those babies off.

i hate wrapping. it just seems like such a waste of time. no one cares and all that paper gets thrown out. hubby did all the wrapping this year. lucky for me he enjoys it and prides himself on being a good wrapper.
