Re: Guest Book
I had one, but you don't 'have' to have one by any means! A lot of people signed ours. It was cute, but not necessary.

We aren't having one. My cousin had an Engagement photo enlarged and guests signed the matting, it was cute.

I agree...it was cute b/c people got really creative but don't go crazy...of course I OD'd and DIY the heck out of it!! It can be simple!!!

Re: Guest Book
I made a photo guest book on kodak.com. It came out really cute and was only $35...there was a sale going on and shipping was free.
At least if people don't sign our guest book then we'll have a cute phot book

I got a Martha Stewart (of course) album and added vintage style aspects to the pages and put it out with a snazzy pen...
it was not a guest book in the traditional sense where people write address and name...

Re: Guest Book
I don't think I'm going to have one. Not that I'm being cheap or anything, just I honestly don't care. I know it sounds a little vicious, but...I don't really know most of my guests. FH hasn't seen most of his extended family in the past 10-15-25 years either. Their cards will be enough, I don't think I need to see trite comments in another book too.

Re: Guest Book
We're having a coffee table book called The Wedding Album by Alice Harris that I'm putting out with a bunch of sharpies that I'm asking people to sign all over like a yearbook.
I made a whole sign to go with it. It basically says, write as much or little as you want. The more filled, the more personal it will be, and the more we will cherish it.
FH liked my idea, which is sweet of him because I figured he wouldn't really care either way.
But you don't have to have one at all! There are no 'have-to's in wedding planning!!!

Re: Guest Book
The only reason I had one is because one of my BMs gave me one at the shower. Otherwise, I never had any intention of buying one. I never even sign them when I go to other people's weddings But that's just me.

Re: Guest Book
There are different kinds of 'guest books' too- i'm thinking of putting out some nice wine bottles and maybe a champagne bottle and a silver or gold pen and having people sign that- one can be for 1st anniversary, 1st valentine's day, 5th anniversary, etc. At least then there is something fun to consume!
