Re: guest books

Those are so cool!! What's a wishbowl ? Is it just a fancy bowl/guestbook that people write their wishes to you and put in there?? sorry if I sound clueless but I would love to do something different and that looks really classy & intersting/different. I don't know much about it! Do you put it @ the reception? Actual guest books are usually @ the church right? Thanks in advance!!

Re: guest books

Are guest books usually at the church? I thought that they were at the reception...where do people find the time at the church to fill out their well wishes?

Re: guest books

we did our wishbowl @ our Cocktail hour/reception, we also had a bible that was given to us by our officiant that everyone signed as well. We had a 'guestbook attendant' my 16 yr old cousin that helped people figure out what to do during cocktail hour. Lots of the notes we got are priceless, many are about our ceremony. It worked out great, we had a sign on the table as well. People seemed to love it.
I really love the sign in platters too.

Re: guest books

Thanks for the info! That is so weird-every guestbook I have ever seen has been @ the church! In fact some of my friends have been asked to be the guest book attendant @ the church. This way I guess B & G know everyone who came to the ceremony, even if they weren't invited to the reception-maybe to give good wishe?! I'm so confused!! I love the Wish bowl though!! I guess it depends on your church.....that's so stranger--Lord knows I've been to a bizillion weddings...odd!! To each his own! I kinda like the idea of it @ the reception better-there is too much going on @ the chuch!

I also got the platter like stef and made a 'martha' wishing bowl jar.

Re: guest books

I did these and let me tell you what a hit they were! No one had ever seen anything like it. I was surprised at how friends and family really drew and wrote some nice and funny things. This wound up being such a great memory, I recommend anyone doing it, it was so up my alley to do something like this.

You can get it at Guest Books

Here is ours. We placed ours at the church. People signed it as they walked in. There was an usher there giving out programs and just making sure no one messed it up.

Re: guest books

We bought a beautiful coffee table book of GREECE (our honeymoon destination) and we are going to buy nice pens and have people sign the book!! I read about it in Martha Stewart weddings.

Re: guest books

We used the same thing as Stacy and loved reading what people wrote. Some of our guests got really creative with pictures and we thought it was nicer then just having people sign their name.
