Guest Books....worth it?

Recent brides: Did you have a guest book? Did you put someone 'in charge' of making sure it was signed or did you leave it on a table? Did your guests sign it? Brides to be: Are you planning to have guest books? Anyone?: Where to get a not-so-frilly, kinda unique book? I saw one that I love - it's $40 - seems high to me! Thanks!!

Guest Books....worth it?

I wasn`t originally planning on one, but I`ve recently seen them used at weddings and showers, and I think it`s a nice memory to hold onto after the wedding. They are exepensive, but it want a simple one, and you`re semi-crafty, maybe you can make one? I`m planning to go to Michael`s to look for a plain journal, and then possibly decorating the front. You can glue dried flowers or something to the front. Just a thought!

Guest Books....worth it?

If youre not crazy about having a guest book, then you might want to try this idea: Get a serving dish from a pottery store and have guests sign it (have the wedding party sign it at the Rehearsal Dinner to make sure the wedding party is in the center of the dish). After the wedding, take it back to the pottery store and have it fired. Its a bit more expensive than a traditional guest book but its more practical and a better keepsake.

I dont think I am going to get one..What will I do with it after the wedding?? I will have a video, photographs and a whole day of memories to remember the day..I look at it as how many times will I open this book to see who attended our wedding..I just dont think I will get one.

Guest Books....worth it?

We're getting pictures from Picture Yourself Graphics done, so we're going to use one of the pictures as our guest book. We're going to double matt it and the guests can sign all around it, and then we're going to frame it so we can hang it up. We're also using the pictures as our favors. They'll be trading cards. The picture is of my fiance and I as a young bride and groom. It's a really cute idea!

Nice for the grandkids

As I was researching my ancestory, I found that a book with relatives names would have been a great find. I might not look at mine, but it could be passed down to piece history together.

Guestbook advice

I spent two days looking for a nice one, but the 'nice' ones were all $40 & up. My husband ended up going to a hallmark store & bought a plain white one for $12. It was fine. Only half the people ended up signing it, even though I had someone 'in charge' of it. My advice, get one that's not expensive, I've probabaly looked at mine twice and now it's sitting in a trunk. Spend you money on more important stuff.

I decided I'm not going to get one. It`s nice to save the $60 (have to buy a nice pen, too). I also don`t want to give it to anyone to be in 'charge of' it and I`m sure that at least 1/2 of the people there won`t sign it. So, we`ll have the pictures, video and personal cards they give us...I think that`s enough! Thanks again, all!

You all just gave me a guest book alternate idea. I never know what to do with cards and hate to throw them away so I think I am going to try and combine the cards and table pictures into a scrapbook.
