Guest List Dilemma

Guest List Dilemma

Hi Everybody...My fiance has a second generation of cousins (kids of his first cousins), some over the age of 18 and some under. Should we invite those over 18, which would mean sending invites and splitting up a couple of families or not invite this generation at all. Plus there are some of this generation that we are closer to than others. We're concerned about offending people but we prefer an adult reception. Curious about your thoughts??? Help?

i actually had this same problem - we have decided no kids under 13, which is the age of my youngest sibling, and so if that means breaking up families, so be it - my cousin got married last month and his age limit was 18, so my little brother was not invited and it was fine

OK, from past experience, there is no way to avoid people from getting offended when this happens. If there is a 16 year old and a 19 year old I would not invite one without the other. I do not think 18 is a good cut off line. Like the person above me 12 or 13 is more understandable. I am a firm believer in all or none. I do not want drama stemming from my wedding and if it is going to be like that then it is NONE for us.

None of my second cousins are coming. Just the parents. Good luck!

We are not having any children other than who's in the wedding party, This we chose to do,, As far as the 2nd generation cousins, we had the same problem, but my family is so huge if we invited them we'd be pushing our budget, so we are only invitng the couins & not there kids, if we did it would be another 50 people, cant do that,,

We are setting age limit at 13. And we do have some families that are splitting up, but those are the rules. If you start to make exceptions, that's when you get into trouble.

You might want to set the age limit at 21, so there are no worries about kids drinking... ya never know. I think that way, it is an 'adult reception' and the age limit you pick isn't so arbitrary.
