Guest List Trouble.... (kinda long)

Guest List Trouble.... (kinda long)

Ok Ladies....

I need your opinion with a sticky issue....
One of my friends that I've known for a long time (15+ years approx.)
I feel the right thing to do is to invite her with her current boyfriend.

HOWEVER, if it was anyone else I wouldn't have this issue.

She was originally the one I was nervous about and not going to have a guest b/c I just wouldn't trust her judgement on who was appropriate to bring (even longer story) but bottom line I don't want someone there that I was friends with in HS and now 10 year later haven't talked to since then coming to my wedding b/c she thinks I'd like to see them and it'd be a good surprise (that kind of bad judgement) .

Well in January she started re-dating her EX so now I wouldn't have to worry about a surprise guest. HOWEVER! her EX and I have a past but not that kind of one.... They had dated awhile ago and he was very mean to her during it... and well he and I were friends before they dated. After they had broken up he told me that he regretted it and that he wished he had dated me ... (you know that immature drama type things) But I didn't want anything to do with him that way and he actually tried to convince me the guy I was dating at the time was no good for me..... etc (my now FH of all people) We were on good terms as friends and then I moved away and we lost touch....

Is it wrong for me to NOT invite him to the wedding and to NOT invite her with a guest?

sorry for the long winded semi rant.... input greatly appreciated

Honestly, I wouldn't if I can't stand to look at him for one night. I would (IMO) send the invite without a guest and if she confronts you about it, see what she has to say and then decide. Thats what I would do, if it were me in that situation. I'm sure it will all work out in the end!

Thanks!
That's what I'm leaning towards.... I just wanted some opinions on if that was too Bridezilla/ diva like to do.

My MOH also supports my decision as she knows that he didn't treat her well and she doesn't like him lol at least it will keep my MOH happy with him not being there too.

Honestly, this is only me. I wouldn't have him at the wedding especially when he admitted he should of dated you!! I would have her come by herself..you don't want to stir up tensions. Does your FH know about him? I think it's hard because you guys were friends for so long and you lost touch..Who is a current boyfriend? The one that said he should of dated you?

Re: Guest List Trouble.... (kinda long)

My FH actually met him ... since we are kinda still friends he came down here for a vacation with friends of the family so the large group of us had dinner together.

That's the thing I am inviting a couple other guests that we are thinking of having the +Guest option... when possible I have found out the Significant others name. Since we have a couple friends that are traveling and will not know anyone else we felt they should have a guest.
I have thought of the dating / living together rule and that would work in her case. She will know other people there and there are others that will not have guests.

I'm a little nervous too.... now thinking about it... that she may just show up with him or someone. Since the response cards per my MIL's request do not say anything about # of intended guests (I just asked my FH and he has no idea either how this is going to work) ahhhhhhhhhhh!

p.s. my friend knows nothing about all this and the past things he's said... etc (otherwise I'm sure she'd understand) I think i'm going to leave it as is and no guest and see what happens but now that last thing is making me nuts!
