had a make-up tiral last night

I met the woman at teh Commack Wedding Center. She was really nice and she kept calling and asking if she could do a free trial for me. I agreed but when she got here she started teaching me how to put on my own make-up. I did all the work. I asked her if this is what I would be doing on my wedding day. She said she would do all the make-up on my wedding day but she wanted me to do it last night so I could learn how to apply it properly. It turns out that she wants me to buy some MaryKay cosmetics.

that's too bad, are you trying anyone else? I went to Kristen in Smithtown and was happy w/ her trial and prices. I still have to develop film from the trial to make sure I love it.

That is very sneaky

I think that she should have told you that she is a Mary Kay sales rep from the beginning. I know that many of them do makeup for special occasions at that is fine. But she should have told you that the make up is available for purchase, if you want it. And she should have done most of the work. I would look elsewhere.

How was the trial you had with Kristen? What is her style of makeup application? Did she do your hair too? Thanks! Deb

Debbus

I only had the makeup trial, since I have long, straight hair that will be curled, and half up in pins, with no veil and a few fresh flowers. Therefore, I think my hair is pretty easy to do for any stylist. I showed Kristen pictures of what i wanted and we talked about it for a few minutes. She suggested baby roses or dendrobium orchids instead of stephanotis, which don't last as long. The makeup application was light and natural. I have dark skin, but want pinks. It didn't take her long, but she would take more time on the day of. She did the basics: foundation, powder, eyemakeup, and put a light pink lipstick w/ gloss. I never wear foundation or powder, so I don't really have practice applying it. I bought my own foundation from Clinique last week, hers felt a little thick (or maybe it was applied that way), which I might use instead. And, of course I have my own lipstick. Also, she critiqued her own work, and said next time we would change the color of the eyeshadow, which was too ashy looking. Does this help??
