Had an interview this morning...

Had my interview today – it went well, but last night I was at work until 9pm working on the presentation the interviewers asked me to prepare. I got home and showed it to DH briefly and I went to bed kind of early. Well, when he came to bed, he told me he looked at my presentation and made some notes and if I wanted to, we could discuss his notes in the morning. I said fine. Well, it’s 5am and DH gets a back spasm so he’s trying to get up and stretch and he knocks over the glass of water that he always keeps on the floor next to the bed. It went all over my presentation!!!! I didn’t know he had brought the presentation into the bedroom with him!!!

So, there I am at 5am trying to figure out what I’m going to do because of course all of the files are on my computer at work and I forgot to email them to myself. In the end, I remembered that I had printed out too many copies of a few of the pages. Luckily they were the ones that were really smudged ad wet. I had made 4 copies – one for me and one for each of the people interviewing me, so I just used the smudged one as my own. But, yeesh!!! I didn’t fall back to sleep until about 7am! and then I was so nervous and so stressed!!!!!!!

Are you kidding!!! I have to research tourist spots for the Southeast! Do you know what there is to do in the Southeast? Nothing!! I mean, they still refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression for chrissakes! Civilization exists only NORTH of the Mason-Dixon Line!!

That's why I said they sound interesting...

Are you kidding!!! I have to research tourist spots for the Southeast! Do you know what there is to do in the Southeast? Nothing!! I mean, they still refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression for chrissakes! Civilization exists only NORTH of the Mason-Dixon Line!!

Those damn Yankees!!! I'm actually half-way through reading Gone with the Wind for the umpteenth time right now, so this is perfect!!! There were many balls and barbecues before the war, but all that fun's gone now!

Seriously, though, I went to Jackson, Mississippi once and went to a museum. It was all about Cotton is King and all that jazz and then there was a teeny tiny corner devoted to the Civil Rights Movement in the South. It was SCARY!!!

Wait, when I went to MS the KING was KING ...

My FIRST fiance's dad lived in Corinth, but we went to Tupelo to see the house (I mean room) that was the birthplace of Elvis. We went with his friend Jack Bumpas ... his mom's name was Dimple

Fiance & Jack made amateur recordings (Jack's brother was actually in a band that had a record deal ... well, down there. I think their tapes sold in the pawn shop) and I think you'd really enjoy 'Elvis Had A Dream' which was inspired by our pilgrimage as well as 'Turkey In The Road'

All this and I prepared powerpoint slides for the President of our segment!!! Thankfully, I don't have a dumbass husband around to pour boiling oil on my keyboard or something ...

I guess 3 hours is her nice limit, huh? Although, she's right, I do sometimes refer to Seb as DA or Dumbass...

and I agree about the oxymoron thing... This Dimple Bumpas leads a very paradoxical life.
