Had my shower @ La Grange Inn

Well, it was supposed to be Father's Day Brunch, but was actually my shower. Sure I was surprised! ;) Anyway, very few people declined, and those who did had something else going on that day. Everyone was very generous, and I don't think we have very much left on our registery. Of the food I had at La Grange, it was very good, especially the cake. It was chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and white frosting, I think ... I was being rushed because I had tons more gifts to open and we were running short on time. I don't think there were any complaints about the service, if there were, I didn't know of any. I believe we had the room for five hours, although part of it was for set up at the beginning. But we definitely ran over at the end, and I was there for four hours, which went extremely quickly .. I can just imagine how fast the reception is going to go if the shower went by so fast! Good thing we're insisting we get there for the cocktail hour! One of the best parts was at the end when my matron of honor read a poem and was assisted by my bridesmaid. Key words in the poem included various household cleaning products, like Shout, Vanish and S.O.S., which were all in a laundry basket as gifts and held up at the appropriate moment during the reading. It was a really special touch. If anyone's interested, I'll post the poem.

I'm glad you had a great time. My shower is coming up June 30th and I can't wait. I know about it only b/c I live in NC -- but they are still being very sneaky about the whole thing -- so who knows what to expect. It's so wonderful to know all of these people care so much about you, isn't it? GOOD LUCK with your planning!

Just had my shower too!

Just got back from NY and had my shower at the Irish Coffee House in Islip. It was wonderful! I was so spoiled by my family and friends!!! I would definitely recommend this place for showers or rehearsal dinners. They have a bunch of separate rooms of different sizes, so they can accommodate almost any size party.
