Had my trial and not happy...

Aaaagggghhhh! I am so disappointed. I had my trial this evening and I didn't like it at all. The make-up was too dark and the hair was nothing like what I showed her. She tried doing it 3 times!The worst part is that I waited till the last minute for the trial as my wedding is in about 6 weeks!

I am now on the hunt for a hair and make-up artist that will come to my house the day of. Any suggestions?? Help!

I'm going to my aunts friend tomorrow for a rough trial - she does hair but also has a makeup person. If I like her work, I'll le tyou know. She comes to the house!

Sorry things didn't go as planned. Did you take pics? Might I ask who it was? Did you show her pics of hair & such? Was it what you wanted, but it just didn't look right? I'm so sorry

Yes- I showed her exact pics of what I wanted. My hair looked like I had a doughnut on it and my make-up was just too dark for me. I hardly wear make-up to begin with...it was just to much and she wasn't listening...

not sure who you used, but jackie from I Make Up You does really good work and has a hair person (margaret, i think) that travels with her.

I can highly recommend my makeup person, Clarin Cohen. She uses Bobbi Brown cosmetics, and she was amazing. Many guests said that my face looked porcelain (I have fair skin). She is a vendor here and her phone is 917-608-7638. If you make a trial appointment in Bloomingdale's at the Walt Whitman Mall, the trial is free!

Edited to say: And like you, I waited until 6 weeks before my wedding to book her.

I was really hoping someone that did both hair and make-up and that came to the house...If anyone hears of someone let me know pleeease!

Your hair you will def. want to get done. If you have a large budget for it I can recommend a salon in the city that will send a limo to pick you and your girls up and then deliver you back home.

As for makeup, I had 2 trials w/diff. people and ended up going to MAC and buying a bunch of stuff. I did it myself and I felt so much better. I felt way to 'made up' when others did it. I felt much more natural the day of doing it myself.

I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't happy with your trials. I had two bad hair trials! I didn't book anyone until my third!

My makeup, however, I loved from day 1! I'm using Jillian from Gorgeous Faces and she is wonderful! She will travel to you! Give her a call!
