I feel like I am running out of people to look at, I have not found one photographer that I happy with yet. Its either they are way over priced for ok work or there work is amazing and the albums are not. I have no idea what i am going to do, I went to see one photographer this weekend and they quoted me $10,000 just for photography. Isnt that insane.

We used Cassarino Studios. We were happy with our photos and video.

I have to agree with everything Misty has said. I know you probably want to get a headstart on things, but I would wait until next year to start your photography search up again. Maybe you just need to take a break from it - your head must be spinning in every direction.

And waiting will bring more of what you want - the digital albums, for example. From what I've gathered, you will be charged 2005 prices - whether you book in '03 or '04.

It is only a couple of days before 2 years and photo and video is the only thing I want to get booked because one of the ones I really wanted was booked already so that is why I am in this whole situation.

I can't believe how insane this industry is. Photographers booked over 2 years in advance?!?!?

I can suggest ADA Studios, they have a couple offices and they are doing our pictures, their prices are reasonable and they seem very nice! I'll try to forum mail you the price list. http://www.adastudioinc.com/

Imagine Studios, I wanted Paula and she is not avaliable. Because I had already booked video, so I could only use her. The original date I wanted at my hall was taken so I had to go the next weekend. It is ridiculous, The other reason I have to get everything planned is because I am going to be starting Law school and once I start that I will have no time to plan this wedding.

Its good that your are starting early in looking at your photographer. I think perhaps you are overwhelmed at the moment. I mean you have 2 years to go, and I think you shouldn't book to see so many in a week. take some time out, gather your thoughts, and RELAX, you have a while to go. Maybe when you have more time, you could actually focus more, and who knows, maybe the ones you didn't like in the first place, you might go again.

Give Glenmar in Roslyn a try. I know for certain that they have digital albums and they are reasonable. They don't advertise, but they have been around forever and get most of their business by word-of-mouth referrals or repeat business.

don't be discouraged. they are probably acting so shady b/c your wedding is a couple of years away. $10,000 that is too much for wedding pictures unless he will be taking pictures of you and your fh from 1/1/2005 until your wedding date and beyond in the delivery room, kids graduations,etc... my photographer is from LI and he does house calls. we meet him at a bridal show and he came to our home and we sealed the deal with him. if you want send me fm and i will give you his info. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP it is worth all of it!

Bridget.. I had the same problems looking for photographers.... I went from Lindenhurst to Manorville and back! I chose DUET... their packge is unbelievable and customizable! Check them out at www.duetwedding.com or search for the OFFICIAL DUET Photography thread!

Advice: Some photographers give the oh, pay 3K now ad then after your wedding come and we wil put together the album. ASK what the AVERAGE price of the albums are and how many pics it includes. That was a biggie for me and my DH! You wouldnt believe the responses! FM ME FOR MORE INFO!

I am using Glenmar in Rosyln, but since you live out east............My friends rcommeneded Leli in St. James and David Kreiger in Mount Sinai. Both were highly recommended to me, but they were too out east for me.

I am also getting married in 2005. I am surprised some photographers told you it was too far. I didn't find that at all........

I'd love to hear what B rett M atthews was including in that 10K price! I am using BM and I am not paying anywhere close to 10K and I am getting alot in my package and two photographers.

ME 2!!!!!

I looked at Glenmar and they were the most resanable. I didnt book because they were pushy like car salesman like the call and harrased me for like 3months. U should Check them out though!
