Hair and Makeup on Sundays

My cousin brought up an issue I hadnt thought of that since I am a sunday wedding and most salons are closed that places will charge you extra to open the shop or come to you, is this true?

Tara, it might be true, but you should speak to your stylist and see what they say. I am sure that lots of salons have already planned for this issue. You are not the first bride to be married on a Sunday, so it wouldn't really be fair for them to charge you extra.

I was married on a Sunday, and I did not have a problem. But, I had my regular stylist do my hair and my Mom's and she was more than happy to come to my house.

The rest of my bridal party went to either their regular stylists (which they had arranged ahead of time) and two others went to Maxximus. I think that as long as you give the stylist enough notice, you will not have any problems.

Glad you mentioned that because I am a Sunday bride too. Most places that I know of are open on the weekends, including Sunday, and closed on Monday. This way they can be open for special events. Let me know how you make out.

I was a Sunday bride and had absolutely no problems at all. I went to my regular hairstylist for my hair, and she gladly opened up her shop for me and 3 others. She also was traveling to do another bridal party that day in the afternoon.

I used Jackie from IMakeUpYou and she came to the house. There was no problem there at all.

I'm using a girl named Bessie from Beautiful Girls. She can come to you. Her # is 718-707-1089. I had the same problem b/c my salon is closed on Sundays as well. My sister used Bessie for her wedding last year and she came out great, so I decided to book her myself.

I don't think it will be a problem - esp. if it's your regular hair stylist. Mine is off on Saturdays (for whatever reason) and works Sundays. She already agreed to come in on the Saturday of my wedding.

My regular stylist works out of her house and doesnt do makeup or anything, she said it would be better to go somewhere that did both

My sister got married on a Sunday in August. We went to Maximus, & they did both hair & makeup! I definitely recommend them!

What is an average price i should expect to pay? Do they do nails and pedicures too? I want to get pampered

Tara - average price for hair and makeup are about $100 each. I didn't use the same place for both and everything was fine. Although I do know that my stylist does work with a make-up artist. I don't think it's a rule that you should go to the same place for hair/makeup.

And if you want to get a mani/pedi, I suggest getting it done on Saturday. You won't have time on Sunday and you don't want to smudge your nails. This way if you smudge on Saturday, you can get them fixed right away.

I am running into the Sunday dilemma. Even if they will see you, they charge you double the regular price because they are closed on Sundays.
Might you share your contact information for your stylist.....
