hair dye

If I were to dye my hair extensions before the wedding, and if it were to rain, would the hair discolor the dress? I've never dyed my hair before....Any thoughts?

As long as you dye it at least 4 days before the wedding it will be fine...even if you did it the day or 2 before you should be fine but just to be safe I'd do it a little earlier. i dye my hair and it has NEVER come out due to rain.

Re: hair dye

I've been coloring my hair for a long time and never had issues in the rain. If you are concerned, I would do it a week in advance just in case. Also, not sure how hair dye reacts to extensions - you might want to ask your stylist about that especially if they are not human hair.

If the color doesn't wash out with shampoo, you should be okay if it rains. I put a lot of color in my hair, it usually takes 2 or 3 shampoos before it rinses clean.

If the extensions are 100% human hair, you should be fine providing you apply the color at least 72 hours in advance and wash it out completely until the water runs clear, then rinse thoroughly with cool water (this will help close the cuticle and seal in the color molecules).

Also, when drying or styling the extensions, you should apply a hair sunscreen. This will help prevent the color from oxidizing.

Good Luck!

A week before it should be ok.
I have only had issues when it was a VERY dark yet bright (purple) dye. But the regular colors should be fine.
