Hair, is it really worth 235?

Original post by Swan06

Okay 235 including trial and for the day of. Is it me or is that a lot of money? I was just wondering if it was worth that much money? 175 just to do your hair on the day of? I'm considering it only because I want my hair to look beautiful, but how much time is the person going to spend on my hair? Did anyother brides, regret saving money in that department? What is everyone else doing for hair?

Where is everyone getting there hair done? I have two months till the my wedding and I still am not sure who I am using for hair. I'm freaking out about that a little bit. The price isn't so much an issue, I just want to feel good the day of and really really like it. Help!

Thanks!

That sounds like too much money for hair.

I am all for spending whatever you feel you necessary for hair and make-up... I spent a lot and I felt it was totally worth it.. I felt so beautiful. This is not an area to look for the cheapest price IMO.

Couldnt have said it better myself. I would forgo stuff like a slipper basket, chocolate fountain and certain extras in order for my life long memories to look the way I want them too. Including my hair.

I agree!!!!

I agree too ...if you can afford to spend this amount then do it...its the one day and the one thing that I would spend extra on...like Goldi said I would skip the little extras like the slipper basket and the chocolate fountain...IMO this is one place not to try and find a bargain for...I know for myself if I'm having a bad hair day I'm in a BAD mood...I'm not taking that chance my wedding day...

If its a stylist that has a good rep and whose work you've seen and loved, then go for it.

I think you're better off choosing someone like that even if it means paying more than wasting money on a ton of trials with stylists who charge less.

$235 between the trial and day of is average cost for brides.

I have my trial this weekend. I will post pics I've decided that if I really click with her and love her work then I'll book her on the spot

I know how I am and if I don't feel pretty then I will have a bad day!!!!! I must look beautiful on my wedding day!!! Im just scared of spending a lot of money and not getting what I want.

I honestly think that there are plenty of great hair artists out there for a lot less.

I completely agree, I guess when you see it on paper the 235 it seems like a lot.

Um, the $235 is just for YOUR hair? I know I'm not from the LI area, but I am paying $235 for myself, the MOH, and two BM's. And that included my trial day. I loved it on trial day.
I had paid another stylist way too much money for a trial and it was awful!!

But like everyone else said, if you like her and you have the $$$ go for it.

We are all getting airbrushed make-up (four of us) for $270--not including tip. She does awesome work, and is even traveling almost an hour to my wedding site. I love her!!

If you absolutely love the girl and how you look then it is worth it. If not, I would shop around.

Price is a relative thing to everyone. If you like her and you are in love with the trial, then it's worth it.

If you are wondering if it's worth it, go to someone more reasonable first to compare.

Just because it's more money doesn't mean it's better.

Agreed. Being comfortable with the person and having them completely understand was what was important to me. I want peace of mind on my wedding day and I'm willing to pay a price for it!

I think that is way too much!!!! Unless they are giving you some diamonds along with the deal!!! $235 for what? some $3 hairspray and bobby pins?
