I'm going for my trial this Saturday. The girl doing my hair is a friend of FH, and she's doing mine (and on the wedding day a few of my bridesmaids) for free.... the girl doing make up is a friend of hers.
They're not asking me to pay for the trial, but I feel weird not giving them anything. At the same time I feel weird offering a friend $$ in one of those awkward 'no no, seriously, take it...' kind of scenarios...
Any advice on what I should give as a tip this weekend for the trial? Should I tip them individually, or put $ in an envelope and let them divide it up? Should I tip them at all?
TIA!!

Re: Hair & Make-up tipping?
i would definetly tip them...especially if they're not charging you anything, and especially if they're a friend. If u're going to the salon, slip it in a draw at her chair - when ur leaving just say 'I put ur tip in ur draw'...that way u avoid the whole 'take this, no i dont want it, no seriously take it' thing...if she still tries to fight u, i'd just say 'dont worry about it, i WANTED to give you something'

Is the trial at a Salon or is she coming to your home?
I would buy a gift card or something nice and give it to them as a nice gesture.

Re: Hair & Make-up tipping?
I'm going to her house for the trial... FH didn't like the idea of a gift card, and it's his friend so I can respect that.
I'm thinking I'm going to email her and say that I want to thank them by taking them out to a nice lunch on Saturday after the trial, any place she wants. Does that sound OK? Lol then I'll just have to suck it up and go out looking a little silly with my hair and make up and possibly veil all done up

I was just going to say this. If you think they will be adamant about not accepting a tip, maybe an Amex gift card or something like that.
