Hair & Makeup Quotes

if you don't mind sharing....what kind of hair and makeup quotes has everyone been receiving?

I plan on having someone come to me, but I'm clueless about what's reasonable.

It was making me very frustrated, to tell you the truth.

I only have me and two other girls, plus my mom and FMIL.

The quotes I were getting looked like about $1000 total for hair and makeup for all five of us. If I cut my mom and FMIL out, it's about $800.

I'm starting to think about going the route of just getting someone outside to do hair and perhaps doing makeup on our own, or enlisting a friend's help. My MOH will be in NY on April 24th so we're going to do our own little trial at sephora... if it works out great, I'll buy the products and we'll just do it. Maybe we'll meet someone willing to work for a little less while we're at it.

Good luck! Maybe someone else here has some good suggestions for more reasonable fees or ideas.

I paid $600 for hair (was a flat fee for a certain number of hours, I can't remember how long) and $575 for makeup for 3 people including me. I paid so much because I schlepped them out from NYC to Suffolk after having had some bad trials with more local people... worth the cost, because the photos came out great, and they did a fab job on my mom and sis.

I'm paying $150 for hair and $150 for makeup and they're coming to me but that doesnt help you since I'm getting married the same day as you so you couldnt possibly use who I'm using. I'm no help!

The first artist I tried would have been 125 day of, the second artist 200 day of, and the third who I am using is also 200 day of. Hair at a local salon would have been 75-85 dollars, and the stylist I am using is 200.

Who are you girls using for hair and makeup? I was planning on going with my 8 bridesmaids to a local salon which is charging 100 for hair and 100 for makeup.....for bridesmaids 75 for hair and 65 for make up.
