If you have your hair straightened -- would the hairstylist have trouble curling it for the day of your wedding?

Re: Hair Straightening
I've curled my hair and it is 'Japanese straightened'. I've had ppl and the workers tell me that it is hard to hold the curl within the first 2 months of getting the straightening done....When I curled mine for my e-party it was about 4 months after in the summer and it held up.

When i looked into it brazilian isn't as strong and only lasts three months. but its easier on your hair

Umm.. I considered that...I believe it lasts about 3 months and it gradually washes out versus* growing out. I don't know about the curling differences. The only reason I did not do that was because my hair is just like a small wave and you really can't see any hair difference when it grows out from the Japanese. Maybe that might be a better option for you considering your wedding is this September. I think the cost is anywhere between $200-$400.

09' crashing.....I have had the Brazillian done twice now....Its not a straightener. More like a relaxer. I have really curly hair that I blow out every day. It just makes it easier to dry and doesn't get frizzy. If I wear it curly its nice soft curls not frizzy. and it only last 3-6 months and salt water strips it out. So no ocean swimming.

Re: Hair Straightening
I think the pool is ok. the brazillian is the keratin....its just a protien treatment that takes the FRIZZZ out. it does work. it just doesn't make your hair pin straight like the japanese. THere is a place by me that is doing it for 150 for first time customers. I paid over 300 the first time and 250 the 2nd. FM me if you want details....the salon is in SW Suffolk.

I want to get my hair professional straightened but I am so scared to do it! I am afraid of my hair falling out from all the chemicals they used! How is it done? Is it true that after a shower you can let you hair just hair dry and it is absolutly straight?
How is it done? And how much?

They are just getting you to buy their shampoo... There are different brands and I have to use a shampoo without sodium somthing in it but I use RUSK so its not crazy expensive

Re: Hair Straightening
I use the brazilian as well. i have curly hair but blow dry it straight ALL the time. it still allows for your hair to curl but the curls are softer. it does WONDERS for frizz. It can be extremely humid out and my hair is intact! it lasts about 6 months before you have to do it again. i would say do it at least 2 months before the wedding. I find that when i first do it, its harder to curl it with the curling iron. I do it in ridgewood queens and pay $150 Feel free to FM me if u want any more info.

I was afraid too but i trust my hairdresser and she recommended it for me since i never like to wear my hair curly. i dont know about it being absolutely straight right out of the shower but i know that i can wet it and let it air dry and it wont be WILD and CRAZY as it normally would. i can do a quick run thru with the flat iron and im good to go.
the way its done where i go: they wash your hair and dry it. then they spray the product into your hair and blow dry it then flat iron it to seal the product into your hair. thats it.

Re: Hair Straightening
They should make that product for us to buy at Ulta..that's something us ladies can do instead of paying so much to get it done!!!
