Hair stylist that come to you do not wash and blow?

Hey,

This may sound really dumb but i want to make sure. I went to a hair trial and my hair was oily. I thought that they wash and dry your hair in addition to styling like salons do. Then i thought well ok, i guess not for a trial but on your wedding day, its done. The person i booked said no, that you suppose to have your hair washed and dry. Is this true? Aren't they suppose to wash and dry your hair and then style when they come to you? I am so confused. Haha. Maybe I am better off going to a salon. I suck at blow drying my own hair nicely, oy

I am going to the salon to have my hair done and for EVERY updo I have had they have told me to wash and blow out my hair the night before without using any oil and no conditioner on the ends.

They want some of your hair's natural oils in, so I think that's why they have you do it the night before. But it is that way for my wedding for me and all of my BM, and it's been that way for every updo I've ever done, and I go to the salon.

yea all the girls are right. If you was your hair its too slippery to hold a style. When it's a little 'dirty' it can grip better.

yeah, you dont really need to blow out your hair, plus its a waste of time and $$

Even when I go get my hair done at the salon they don't wash and blow dry. Next day hair is usually easier to style. I washed and blow dried mine the night before.

Are you having an updo? If you are putting your hair up you should wash it the night before and blow it out. If you are having it curled or just straight down then wash it the morning of and blow it out. My girl only blew out the hair of the people who just wanted blow outs. The oils in your hair will keep your hair up longer so you want it dirty from the night before.

I am wearing it loose, old hollywood style. So my hair will have long waves. I was thinking professionally blow drying the day before so its nice and shiny?
