Hair Trial Question

I haven't started looking for a hair person yet so I'm not sure exactly what they do. Here's why I ask. My hair is normally curly but for the wedding I'd like to have it straightened and wear it up. Do hair stylists straighten hair (with a hair dryer or flatening iron) or do they just put the hair up for you? Sorry if this is a silly question but I'm very clueless. Thanks!

Re: Hair Trial Question

I haven't had one either but they should definitely straighten it for you. They would do what they are going to do the day of the wedding. Maybe someone who has had a trial will know.

I think you should stick to FM'ing me because whenever you post on here, I see that chocolate covered strawberry and it just makes me hungry. It doesn't help that I've got 5 million bakeries right downstairs either. You're evil Ms. Kimberly!

Re: Hair Trial Question

When you go for your trial, your hair person should be willing to try whatever style you are looking to do. I just went for my hair trial and she was willing to curl, straighten, do an up do. ..etc!

PS: Did you try Claudia ? I see you are using her sister for makeup! I heard they are amazing!!!!

Re: Hair Trial Question

I'm definitely going to schedule a trial with Claudia. I think it would be a lot easier to get hair/makeup done with 2 people who've worked with each other before (like Maureen and Claudia have). I've heard great things about Claudia as well as Tania from Swank in NYC.

Re: Hair Trial Question

I was told by my hair lady that for people with curly hair she straightens the hair first.

Re: Hair Trial Question

I wanted my hair curly for my wedding day (I have naturally curly frizzy hair). When I scheuled my appts for myself and my bridal party, the asked for all of us to come in with our hair dry and straight. They explained that our hair will hold a little more if it is done earlier in the day or the day before. They told me that I didn't have to use a straightener or anything, just to blow dry it. The girls in the salon then used a straightener for the girls that had their hair straight.
I would find out if that is what they will do with you. If you are looking for a pkace to get it done - I went to Lauren at Bocu Salon in Commack (she is awesome!!)
Good Luck!

Re: Hair Trial Question

My hair is naturally wavy and for my trials -- since I was trying updos/chignons, they all straightened.
