Hair trial this weekend -

Hair trial this weekend -

With Carolyn and I'm wondering if I need to tip. The trial is $50 and is out of her home . . . any thoughts / experience with this? Haven't done a hair vendor yet. I had a make-up trial, and I did tip, but afterward I was kind of like, why did I tip? It was a similar situation, out of her home, etc. TIA!!

i haven't had a trial yet but i think i will probably be tipping (maybe like $10 or $20) ... that way, they remember you and are extra-nice to you on the wedding day itself

I had a trial with Carolyn in her salon, and her daughter was there and it wasn't good. I felt that she was totally distracted and rushed b/c of her, and I didn't love the final results. I'm trying with another vendor next weekend.

I did tip her, but really shouldn't have.

You were unhappy with your hair? I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I just feel kind of weird tipping someone working out of their home since the money for the trial is going to her for her time. I am kind of torn about it.

yeah - pic in my album. I posted it on here and everyone was like 'more curls, more volume' and I just felt like she was very distracted b/c her daughter was there, and then the little girl burnt her finger on a curling iron. So it was just a weird experience. I'm sure you won't have the same issues as me!

Thanks - and thanks to the previous responders. I will post pics afterward. I am picking up my 'hair jewelry' from Thomas Knoell beforehand - I think I am more excited about that!!

I remember this now that you mention it - I didn't know who the trial was with, I don't think.

OMG!!!!!!! I actually did put a deposit down w/ her, b/c I was afraid no one would be available, but then I found someone else. So if I like my new person, I will lose $50. No big deal.

JayBee - who else are you doing trials with? I am thinking of doing more than one too before I decide. . .

Nicole D'Angio, however she literally took MONTHS to get back to me, and she's expensive.

But, I heard she's the best, and my hair won't curl for the life of it, so I'm willing to pay more if she can make it last!

i had my trial with her at the home and she was not distracted...her kids were downstairs with a babysitter. I really liked how she did my hair and her prices were great so i booked with her.

I ended up ordering the Lourdes flower - did you try that one?? It's huge and sparkly, but I loved it from the beginning. I ordered during their recent big sale so I got 30% off!!! Did you end up getting one of the orchids??
