Re: Halloween Decorations: Tombstones
I made two more today..one for me that says 'Stef - a real witch' (boring but i couldnt think of anything that wasnt too long) and one that says 'YUR Next' I still have enough materials to make at least 4 more but it was getting dark and the wind was blowing all my paint everywheres. HOpefully i can crank another few out on Friday.
I also worked on my eyeball icecubes and they came out pretty good. Again - so timeconsuming. Hopefully they wont melt too fast.
Tonight is set for working on my paperbag laterns and bat cut outs.
Oh and since i uploaded this photo, I will show it to you guys. I sent out my invitation using evite (b/c its not that formal of a party) but here is the image i used.
PS: Everyone please keep your fingers crossed that the yankees (or marlins, i dont care which) win the world series in 5 games. I am going to be very annoyed if all the guys spend the whole party watching the game!

Your party is going to look so cool Stef, I hope everyone appreciates your hard work! How did you make those ice cubes, my god, they look like real eyeballs!

The eyeballs are peeled raddishes with a small hole scooped out and a halved stuff olive inside. Saw that on Martha Stewart and had to do it.

You spend sooo much time on this Stef. I think the eyeballs look great. I would have just tried to buy eyeballs and put them in the cubes and fill with ice :D

Now that you said that I saw that on MS too and they looked awesome in a drink.

You would think buying those little things like eyeballs would be easy right - no! Ive been looking for a big package of spiders and cant find anything. I never looked for eyeballs but ive been to a lot of craft stores and havent found anything.
PLus - i dont like putting non food items mixed with food. I feel like someone could choke and I wouldnt want that.

Stupid question...Do you put the radishes in water and freeze them like ice cubes?

Re: Halloween Decorations: Tombstones
Yea, you put the olives inside the radishes first..and then put the whole thing in the ice, top with water and freeze. I did a few really large ones without the ice and plan on using those to decorate one of the food dishes.
I havent checked on them but its a lot harder to see the eyeballs thru the ice i think so im hoping they are not completely a waste in the dark room.
