Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

As many of you girls know some of us HATE that moveable wall so I am posting photos for you to see, in case you haven't yet. This photo was taken when they were setting up. BUT this table will still look like this when you open the room up. That is what I think looks unprofessional and shabby. It is an empty 12' buffet table. It should be put away, not left out.

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

This is what I am having a huge problem with girls. This WALL is killing me. Why didn't they paper it to match the other walls in the rooms. It looks like we are in a gym having our Jr. Prom. Any suggestions?

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

GRR...I hate this wall issue!

I've decided to leave the wall open (I think!) during my reception. Being that it looks so cheap, I'd rather it be left open during our reception.

for the cocktail hour...there's really not much that we can do. They're not going to change it. I'm hoping it's a nice day and people will be outside on the balcony overlooking the golf course.

If it's raining, they'll be in the room. I guess we have to hope that guests won't be checking out our walls and enjoying the food.

I don't know...maybe other brides have some other suggestions. Me you and Lori are all in the same boat here!

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

What I am mostly concerned with is not the look of the walll, but I don't want my guest to be hanging out there all night if the wall remains opens.

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

Exactly. My FH said, 'But it would be a nice area for people to hang out and talk' So then why are we having an evening reception and spending so much on a band!! Opens= guests not dancing in my book. And the room looks bad opened. It isn't like there are leather couches, there are the same tables the guests just sat at, with the long empty tables still there. I think guests will think food is coming back out on the tables. Plus has anyone ever HEARD the wall open? I have a feeling it isn't silent. So that means you will hear the wall opening and tada 'The same exact room in the same exact way you just left it 2 seconds ago' I will pay someone any amount of $$ (don't tell FH ) to figure out a way to fix this wall for me.

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

Thanks for posting the photos Michele What we need to do is set up a time to storm the Hamlet and have them open and close that wall so we can see, and hear, everything for ourselves. I will definitely be leaving that wall open, but I don't want it closed AT ALL, if it sounds horrible. Although, I don't think my old gym wall was very loud.

That cocktail table is super long. I was thinking about having 8X10s set up somewhere of our parents and grandparents wedding photos that will also be a gift table. But I couldn't think of where I would fit that in the room. That is one problem that may have just been solved. Maybe they can remove half of that long table. Does anyone know if it is one really long table or are there one or two tables pushed together?

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

It looks like 3 tables put together to me!

I think the room is beautiful, the place is beautiful...girls, that's why we picked it!

It's out of our hands and there's nothing we can do. The wall will be open for my reception...I picked the room for it's view and that's what I plan on doing. I'm going Tuesday and asking Denise to open and close the wall. I'll let you know what it sound like.

Here's my theory. I'm inviting my guests to my wedding to celebrate with me. Those who truly care about us will be on the dance floor or watching us. But, on the other hand, I don't expect my guests to be chained to their chairs either. If some of my guests choose to escape the loud music and sit in the cocktail room...they will...and if the wall was closed and they needed to get some air...they'd be standing outside in front of the building which I think is worse. At least our guests will be able to enjoy the view of the golf course.

Try not to get too upset about it...Just remember that we picked the Hamlet because we loved it!!

Re: Hamlet Wind Watch Brides- cocktail room photos

I agree. It is still a really nice place. I don't think that people will notice it half as much as we will. I do think that they should wallpaper it to match, but unless they had already planned on doing that, I don't think that there is anyway they are going to do it now.

I am going to have the wall open during the reception. I want people to have a good time, and if that means that they are just hanging out in there chatting, then so be it. I went to a wedding at East Wind, and they opened the cocktail hour room back up for desert and no one even left the dance floor to go in there. I don't think that the younger people will leave the dance floor to go in there, I think they will want to dance. I think that it will be nice if the older people want to get away from the loud music.

Either way, I know that everyone is paying a lot of money for this and everyone wants it to be perfect, but if the wall is my only issue that day, I can live with it.
