Hand Calligraphy vs Computer??

I always thought I would use hand calligraphy-- but i just got off the phone with a prospective calligrapher, and she told me that really the only advantage to using hand, is the type of font.. My invites are contemporary (see below) and would not require something so ornate-- and she said computer has gotten much better and has a lot of 'swirly' fonts.

Anyone have any thoughts?? Pricing for both is way under what I had budgeted so, cost does not matter.. and in all reality, it's only about 200-250 more expensive for hand.

Re: Hand Calligraphy vs Computer??

Price was a factor for me since I didn't think 'hand' was worth the extra money.

I used Laser Calligraphy with Inkspun.com at 39 cents outer and 29 inner. For 130 invites it was $115 and they are beautiful! They matched my ink perfectly with no drip marks.

Re: Hand Calligraphy vs Computer??

I've gotten both kinds of invitations from friends, and the one that was hand done was very nice, but I honestly like the computer printed one better.
