O, I wanted to visit Dingle when I was there. Irish Tracy - is your recepie difficult - if not, could I have it? I have a super easy one SOMEWHERE - but I think it's in storage at the moment.
Very easy!!
Here is my mothers recipe:
Ingredients 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk 1 1/4 cup of raisins (best way is soak raisins in water the night before makes them plump) 1 cup of sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of salt 2 teaspoon of melted butter 2 teaspoons of baking powder 4 cups of Flour
Instructions Combine all ingredients in a big bowl. Mix with your hands. cook @ 350 degrees for an hour When done wrap in dish towel & cool on it's side (I put it on the dish tray) this will make either 1 big loaf or 2 med size loafs.
Ooops - Thanks Tracy, I should have edited, I found where you had posted it on the Recipie board. I just finished baking it! I've been 'testing' it a little (there won't be any left for everyone else tonight if I keep at it ) It's delicious!!!
