HAPPY UPDATE on p. 3! Getting married in 3 days and my venue is closed

That thunderstorm that came through yesterday hit NW Connecticut particularly hard, and the inn where we're getting married had to close. They sent all their guests to a hotel in another town. 24 hours later, there is still no electricity or hot water, and the only road into town is blocked by trees and downed power lines.

The owner tells me that all should be well by the time people start arriving... 36 hours from now... but I'm kinda freaking out here.

Like everyone said - if the owners aren't stressed, you shouldn't be either! (I know, I know - easier said than done)

These things get cleared up quickly though!!

On a side note: I CANNOT BELIEVE YOUR DAY IS HERE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's was about 2 years ago that we started chatting and now here it is!! I couldn't be happier for you!!! Congrats to you and D!

Try not to worry about things you can't control. I know it's really difficult, but it will all work out. My SIL got married the day after the NE blackout we had a few years ago and everything came together. I know it's easier said than done, but just remember what the most important part of the day is....you and your FH, who I am sure you can always have a good time with :)

Good news! Everything is fine. I talked to the owner about an hour ago and he told me that power was restored at about 2:00 this afternoon (less than 24 hours before I'm set to arrive! That was cutting it close!). Phones still don't work too well, and some of the town is still without power, but my venue is fine. They're doing some minor repairs and might be there through the rehearsal, but hey, at this point I'm just excited that it's open. Yay!!!

Thank you so, so, so much for all your kind thoughts and prayers. You girls are really sweet.

Now, time to pack!
