HAPPY UPDATE on p. 3! Getting married in 3 days and my venue is closed

That thunderstorm that came through yesterday hit NW Connecticut particularly hard, and the inn where we're getting married had to close. They sent all their guests to a hotel in another town. 24 hours later, there is still no electricity or hot water, and the only road into town is blocked by trees and downed power lines.

The owner tells me that all should be well by the time people start arriving... 36 hours from now... but I'm kinda freaking out here.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I'm sure everything will turn out fine and that your wedding will be beautiful but I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way and hoping everything gets cleaned up quickly and that the inn is up and running by your wedding day!

Okay so think of it this way. . . you are freaking out bc obviously YOUR wedding is this weekend BUT I bet as hotel owners, they have dealt with this MANY times before and that is why they are not worried! Everything is going to be PERFECTION - TRY TRY TRY not to worry about it.

Oh no, I hope everything works out, these things always do. I hear you about the rain, we have Jones Beach concert tix on Saturday, I haven't been there since I left LI like over 10 years ago. So mad... Hope it's nice for both of us on Saturday!!!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't blame you for being stressed over it, but I'm sure they will be back up and running in time for your wedding!! And, they can't leave the road blocked so I'm sure the city will have that cleared. I don't remember if someone mentioned you have a DOC? If that's so, try and leave the worrying to her...she will deal with everything for you. Everything will work out! I'll say an extra prayer for you!

Aww... thank you for being so positive, ladies! It does make me feel a bit better to hear 25 times in a row that things are going to be okay.

I'm just going to go about my business today: pick up my dress, get a mani/pedi, buy a couple of last-minute things, and let them take care of what they need to up in CT. Nothing I can do can change what is going on up there, so I just have to wait and see, and have faith that the electric/water/road crew people have done this before and know what they're doing.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure if the manager is asking for head counts, they are planning to have it fully up and running for you. It will be beautiful. And don't worry about weather. They are usually wrong.

wow thats crazy!!!

But Im sure they have a game plan and will get the place back up and running and hopefully no one will even be able to tell it closed for a few days!!

Also, the Inn is approaching the busy season, so they need the place up and running or they are going to lose sooooooooo much money! So they are probably working around the clock to get it all done. If they are not concerned, then they probably know what they are doing!
