My MOH has asked if she can change out of her dress, after the grand entrance. I know she is uncomfortable being in a gown because she is uncomfortable with her weight. I was kind of thrown off and didn't know what to say. I don't think I really mind if she changes, because I don't want her to feel uncomfortable, but I just feel like maybe it will look awkward. Should I just tell her go ahead, or try to convince her to stay in her gown?

Re: hard to answer ?
If you are okay with her changing and all the pictures are done I think it is fine.
Just make sure she isn't going to change into jeans and a t-shirt.

I had one of my girls ask me and I said hello no your my bridesmaid...but if this is an issue that has to do with weight and low self esteem then maybe you can consider it. If she is your MOH then maybe she should wait until she does her toast. After that she really doesn't play a huge part (picture wise) so if you don't mind I don't see why not.

Re: hard to answer ?
I would say after all the pictures are done, let her do what she is comfortable with. I mean, I am not a skinny girl, and if I was in a dress that made me feel uncomfortable I would want to do the same thing. I think if she is still able to find a nice dress that isn't so uncomfortable then that would be fine. Just as long as she isn't changing into sweat pants or anything lol I think that would be fine. Just my opinion.
After the pictures are taken, I really don't care what anyone does. I even told FH he can wear his Metallica 'Tuxedo' shirt after haha
In my opinion I don't think it would be a problem. I would just have her suck it up for the pictures =D She will still have her hair and makeup done, and just have a different outfit on.

i agree with the other girls.. as long as you have all the pics you need w/ her in them then i think it would be fine (so as long as its not too casual!) :)

Good point, wait until after the toast.

Did you already pick dresses? Maybe you can find something she'd be more comfortable in or she can wear a sweater or something over it to cover her arms (if that's her issue).

I agree, if you have not picked out a dress it's good to keep every girls body type so that this way no one feels uncomfortable. I showed my girls the dresses and asked them if they liked it before I chose it. I had one girl with 'arm' issues and I told her she could use the shawl (am I spelling it correctly) but not during the church or for pics. She actually felt pretty that day that she completely forgot about her arms.

Re: hard to answer ?
what is she planning on putting on instead ? another dress? pants ? seems like an odd request to me
If she is that insecure, maybe a wrap or a shawl, jacket ect would make her feel better if the dress is strapless or slinky
If it were me , I would say to your MOH to suck it up and just wear the dress. I wouldn't want any of my BM's to change and I had a plus size BM and I wouldn't have minded if she wanted a shawl , but to change because of weight just seems a little over the top, unless you have them in bikini's

Re: hard to answer ?
She choose her own dress. I let her pick whatever she wanted, I just choose the color. I don't mind her changing, I would never want to stay in a dress I wasn't comfortable with. When I talked to her first she said she would wait till have the grand entrance now she says after the ceremony. I told her I wanted her to wait until after the pictures were completed and till after the grand entrance. I want her to be happy but I also want her to be my MOH and walk into the rh with her gown on.

if she picked the dress then what is her problem? i would understand if she didnt but if she had the choice why didnt she pick a more comfortable dress. Which now makes me wonder what she plans on changing into, doesnt seem like she wants to put another dress on period. And yeah she cant change after ceremony, she should stay like that at least for pics ya know. I am sure when she sees the pics she'll even regret changing.
I was very lenient with bm's, they voted on the dress and picked out what they liked. I told them they can wear whatever shoes they wanted, didnt care about color or style, also hair and make up i said is completely up to them, anything is fine with me and same with jewelry. So yeah i would be annoyed by this request bc its like well you picked the dress
for my friends wedding i was a bm, and the straps broke on me twice, the top was just not staying and i kept having to pull it up and always had to be careful but you just deal with it. SHe can wear a shawl or something but i dont see how someone can complain about something they picked out on their own.

Why'd she choose a dress that shes uncomfortable with then? That makes no sense.

Re: hard to answer ?
that is really weird to me....what does she want to change into? its weird that she even had the balls to ask you that.....even if i HATED the dress, or it was SUPER uncomfy i could never imagine asking the bride if i could change
i dont see what weight issues have to do with the dress won't she just be putting on another dress? thats a weird excuse to me....unless she plains on putting on pants and long sleeves? i don't know, its kind of weird.....its nice that you don't care though.....that would bug me - but im a biatch sometimes hahaha.....i would ask to wait until AFTER the entrance....that way all of your pics she is 'dressed'

Now if she picked it, its a whole different story. I am sorry but you can just t ell her 'NO!' what does she want, to not look like she's part of the BP, for that she should have just said no to you when you asked her to be your MOH.

I agree, it doesn't make sense. It was very nice of you to let her pick her own. I totally understand about being uncomfortable in a dress that someone forces you to wear -- but this just seems odd. Maybe she should pick a new bm dress in the same color that she is more comfortable with. I would suggest that, rather than her change into something that does not match the other bm's.

i would say after the pictures if u dont mind then let her feel more comfy..maybe she can even get something in the bm color that u chose so she could still match

Re: hard to answer ?
Honestly, I would ask her not to change. Why on earth would she choose a dress that she was uncomfortable in after you let her choose her dress? There are things that are involved in being a BM and wearing a dress is one of them. Pictures don't just stop after the BP enters the RH... you will be taking pics all night and I think all of your BM should still be in there dresses... that's just a sacrifice we make when accepting the invitation to be part of a wedding. Has she told you what she wants to change into? I'm sorry, but if I were in your situation, I'd tell her no. JMO.

since she chose her own dress.. i don't really understand the problem.. and makes me wonder what she plans on changing into?? If you had chosen it, I'd probably be more lenient, but if that happened to me I'd be pretty annoyed and flat out ask her why she chose that one then.
