It's absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is elegant and the food is outrageous. Not your typical wedding reception food. I'm jealous...it was out of my price range! Good luck!

Harrison House

I was also looking at the Harrison House for 02/02 but decided to go with the Carltun. I heard nothing but raves about the Harrison House. I especially like the on-site accomodations and pub. One thing to look out for is attendees from conferences walking around during your cocktail hour. I went to look at the Harrison House while a wedding was going on. It looked great except for the fact that attendees from a conference were walking around in sweatpants. It just didn't look right. I would definitely mention this to your banquet manager.

How many people are you planning to have? The layout of the dining room is hard for a large wedding. Also, the band has to set up in a hallway. Other then that, everything I've heard about food, service has been very positive.

I looked into the HH as well, one thing they told us was that they are planning to remodel the reception room-you might want to ask when, what the layout will be, and colors. We decided against it because of the size factor(200+guests), and the area for the band.Other than that we loved the menu and onsite accomodations. Good luck!

Having onsite accomodation and the pub is what is pulling us away from the Carlton. We are really having a hard time making the choice. The reception room at the Carlton is more to our liken. But we like the idear of having our family and frieds staying at the Harrison House the night we get married. Since most of his family is from Florida. If you can help us on making the decision we would greatly appreciate it.

Harrison House

I had my reception at the Harrison House last August. I only had about 90 guests so the room was not a problem at all. I had the DJ set up on the dance floor on the wall opposite the tables. The food was excellent and everyone raved about the place. Our family stayed and we all went up to the pub after for drinks and a late snack. The next day we had a beautiful buffet breakfast which was included with our room (the bridal suite is complimentary) and our guests' rooms and we went to the pool and played ping pong and racquetball. It was like having a 2-day wedding. It really made it seem very special. Everyone always says it goes by so fast, but it really felt like a long time.

Harrison House

We booked Harrison House for 5/27/01. We will be having a lot of out of town guests (including ourselves since we live in California now) and we felt that we`d have more time to spend with them since we`d all be staying in the same place. There`s a lot that can be done with flowers and fabric to warm up the main room a bit.

Harrison House - remodel??

after i saw that post, i panicked and called gail (special events manager). she said they just recently remodelled and the only thing they plan on doing is fixing the ceiling in the reception room this year, which, she said, will add to the aesthetics and will not have any effect on affairs. who did you speak to and when? i'd like to make sure i'm not getting B.S.ed by gail.

Harrison House - remodel??

We also met w/ Gail, but it was in October. She did not give any remodeling details, except she mentioned the ceiling(only after we asked because it was a concern). I would think she is being upfront w/ you, it is possible they had a change of plans. Don't worry...I'm sure your day will be perfect.Sorry to put you in a panic.

Harrison House--forztando

Quite a coincidence that we`re there on the same day! Our wedding is the afternoon affair on 5/27. I had actually been thinking of trying to find out who was the evening wedding to see if there was any decorations that we could share. If you want to email me, the address is [email protected]
