John from the Harrison House just called me on my cell phone. Aramark who owned the Harrison House sold it to another company! It is now called the Glen Cove Mansion. John told me that everything is staying the same that it is just a new corporate owner. My wedding is there in October so I he's for real.

Do you know what company Aramark sold it to? I'm not having my reception there (I wish!), but we looked there and I guess I'm just curious.

Wow! That's neat! P.S. Absolutely best place in the world and I promise you, they treat you like royalty from the food tasting to the wedding night. You're going to love it!

Re: Harrison House - Name Change!!
I booked with HH. My wedding isn't until 07 but still. Can you imagine anyone who's printing invites and such for their upcoming Jan/Feb/March wedding?!
I'm just in such shock-- I mean I was literally showing one of my co-workers their website on Thursday and then yesterday the site was down and then my BM called to tell me all this stuff.
The Benchmark Hospitality group bought them over. They're in the luxury hotel business. The new website is www.glencovemansion.com
My concern with this is that when I booked them part of the reason is because of the name and reputation. Now it's a different name and I don't know the new company's reputation. I was reassured that nothing's different except for the name but who knows. I'm also concerned because I was quoted a room rate, but I didn't have it set in stone yet with Betty to block off the rooms. So if this is a luxury hotel company, there's a good chance the prices on the rooms will go up.
I think these are reasonable worries. I'm sure everything will still be great, but of course I'm becoming a BRIDE somewhat of a ZILLA and having nightmares ALREADY!
Am I totally crazy for thinking this is a somewhat of a major issue?
