I started by learning proper grammar!OMG I'm such a B!+ch. ignore me..it was too easy.
No I've never written a book. There's a book called 'writer's market ' that lists contacts and info and guidelines for publishers of all different kids of work. That may help!

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
I really feel bad..that was mean. I don;t think I could ever write an entire book. it involves too much follow through. I do best with 5 page essays.

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
The Writer's Market is a good place to start. What type of book are you interested in writing? Depending on what type of book you are interested in, you may want to see about getting shorter pieces published first.
My fiance self-published a book earlier this year. It is very difficult to get a book published (especially fiction). You need to be persistent and handle rejection well.
You also may be better off getting an agent, but it is hard to get one if you are not already published.

working on a children's book right now, actually. I have a freind who's a publisher who's giving me some advice. He says it's best to find yourself and agent.

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
it was just a question...i am not perfect, so i made a silly grammer error BIG WHOOP - people do it all the time. it really is not necessary to make me feel embarrassed about it.

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
I did, I did. It was when I was in 3rd grade, it was one of the projects we worked on. If I remember correctly it was title 'The day it rained fruit punch'!! Can you believe it never became a classic??
ETA: I did my own illustrations

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
I really was kidding! Im sorry I wanted to delete it right away but then I was quoted, so it wouldn't have helped.I was really just kidding. I know when people write on these baord they're not concerned with grammar and spelling, myself included.it was just ironic cause it was about writing..see? Ha! ha! Come one, laugh with me!
ok, I'm mean. I'm sorry!

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
I've written several books and short stories but I'm too chicken to submit them to a publisher. One is about my inlaws and I'm deathly afraid of what my husband would say/feel if it ever got published. It's sort of like in a Mommy Dearest format!

Re: Has anybody ever wrote a book?
I've been told it's really difficultto get published withou an agent and difficult tog et an agent if you're not published. What have you written before? What kind of book? Maybe you can start by submitting shrt stoies to magazines and literary reviews, that way if you get one or two shorter things published, you're more likely to have somsone get behind you with a longer piece
