Has anyone been to Costa Rica?

Has anyone been to Costa Rica?

DH and I are thinking of going to CR the first weel of August and I was wondering if anyone had been there before. I found two greta all-inclusive deals- one to Barcelo Playa Langosta Resort And Casino in Tamarindo for $897 and one to Barcelo Playa Tambor Resort And Casino for $701.
I know that it may be smarter to do the cheaper one, but from doing research I get the impression that Tamarindo is a better town with more nightlife.
Can anyone advise me?

My aunt and uncle just got back a month ago. They stayed at the Four Seasons which they loved. They are beach obsessed though and said that the Costa Rican beaches do not compare to the Caribbean.

Trust me, we love the beach too, but the main appeal is all the cool day trips you can take. I definitely want to take surfing lessons!

DH and I went on our honeymoon there and it was GREAT! You can do a search to see my posts to others on CR!
