Girls.. My FH is set on going to Hawaii for our honeymoon. The thing is..we were just there this past November and had free tickets from my job plus only went for 9 days so it wasn't too expensive for us. Of cousre, I would love to go back but I really want bedroom furniture more and refuse to go into our wedding money for our honeymoon! Has anyone been to St. John? I know that's it's supposed to be beautiful..but can anyone tell me anything about it? TIA!

I went as on day trip during a cruise to St. Thomas. It was soo beautiful!!! I always said I would go back for vacation, the snorkeling was great too.

St. Thomas is beautiful!! I have never went over to St. John, but I heard it is really nice. My favorite island is St. Maartean. Why don't you consider a cruise, Eastern Carribean. It won't be to much money.

St john is beauitful. My family swears it is that best beach they ever been on. The only thing I can say is the beach is amazing... if you love the beach you will love St. Johns

We're going to St. John in April! (25 days from TODAY!) It's our last 'big vacation' before we buy a house....we're staying at Caneel Bay and it looks awesome. Everything I've heard about St. John--from the beaches, the people, the snorkeling, to the beach bars--has been excellent. I'm so psyched!! We're going to St. Thomas first for 2 nights (direct flight from JFK to St. Thomas) and then to St. John for 5 nights...and we're taking a day trip to Jost Van Dyke (British V.I.) which is supposed to be the most beautiful and the biggest party island in the Caribbean (if your idea of a party is barefoot, bathing suit only, and a rum drink in your hand! When I get back, I'll post a review of everything!!

St. John is gorgeous. I definitely will go back. I was there for about a week. There are the expensive hotels north of Cruz Bay (Caneel Bay and I forget the other ones). If you don't want to spend that much there are other hotels to go to. If you want more info., I can dig up the name of the place we stayed. It had a small pool and was on the beahc, but the beaches on the south shore are rocky, so we rented a jeep and went to the north beaches (about a 10 min. drive). The place was also walking distance to town, which was nice at night and when I wanted to go shopping! There is a lot to do, but you have to rent a jeep. The people were so nice and the island is so great that you will want to explore it!

We went to St. John's the first week last Oct. It rained EVERYDAY- Pouring all day!!!! We did not see the sun. I see that your wedding date is mid-Sept, I would highly recommend that you go somewhere else. It is beautiful but not in hurricane season. People have posted that they are calling for the worst hurricane season ever. Don't risk it, why not try Aruba I hear that they don't have a hurricane season or Hawaii since Sept and Oct have the least amount of rain during that season.

I went to St.John on my honeymoon and LOVED it. The beaches are the nicest I have ever been to. We stayed at Caneel Bay and since it was off season we had pretty much every beach there to ourselves. If you want a nice relaxing vacation St.Johns is the place to go. We went in October and it rained about 10 minutes each day but the sun was out while it rained so it didnt bother us at all. If you have any questions feel to to ask. We want to go back next year that's how much we loved it.

I haven't but from what I heard... St. John's has the most beautiful beaches in the carribbean.

We love it!!!!!!!1 Trunk BAy is my Fav. Beach ever!!! We're honeymooning there (& Tortola & St. Thomas, we're Island hopping)...
It can Be expensive, FH really wants to stay is an over the top suite at the Westin there, I'm looking for other places.... hoping to find an all inclusive

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! We just got back from 5 nights at Caneel (incredibly relaxing and beautful--no phone, no tv, nothing but the whirring of your ceiling fan, and 7 amazing beaches). If you're looking for lots to do (besides snorkeling and other water activities) like nightlife & stuff like that, this wouldn't be the resort for you, but if you want a beautiful, relaxing, calming paradise, go there!!!! Jost Van Dyke in the BVI had amazing beaches too--we did a day trip there. I cannot wait to go back to St. John again. We did 2 days in St. Thomas, which was great too, but wayyy more busy, bustling, commercial, etc. in some places. Magen's Bay was beautiful there, and we had a lovely stay at the Marriott Morningstar on St. Thomas too. Happy planning!!
