Re: Has anyone else been extremely suprised
Ias shocked too. The one I liked in the bridal shop was about $240 , i think. It was one layer cathedral, rat tail edge. I ordered a similar one from veilshop.com I seems a little flimsier to me, but that may be b/c its all wrkinly & staticy just out of the box. But it was $87 which is much more reasonable considering I am taking it off for the reception.

Look online. Mine in the store was close to $400. I did a search on the net for the same one and it was $200.

Re: Has anyone else been extremely suprised
Thanks- I have heard that Tri-County has good ones, but haven't checked them out yet. But those that bought them on-line, are they as nice?
And as far as tiaras! They are crazy prices also.
Has anyone seen the ones that wrap around your hair?

I got mine at Patchogue Floral. It's a two layer cathedral length with embroidery on the bottom and I paid $129.

Re: Has anyone else been extremely suprised
For this reason, I am borrowing mine from a friend, or my sister. I was looking around, though, in case I needed a backup and found this site:
http://www.wrapwithus.com/veils.html
They have a store here on LI that you can visit. I was also at Michaels in Westbury on Sat. and they had some kits to make your own, but they are not as nice as the ones you see in the bridal places. I am going to wear a simple comb with tulle attached, below my hair, so these would work for me.
